Driving Assistance System for Vehicle
An embodiment driving assistance system for a vehicle includes a driving information provision unit configured to acquire and provide driving information of a traveling vehicle, a control unit configured to generate and output a control signal for driving assistance when it is determined the vehicle travels on a rough road based on the driving information of the vehicle provided by the driving information provision unit and it is determined that the vehicle is currently in a rough road traveling state, and a steering actuator configured to generate and apply a steering assistance force according to a control value of the control signal for the driving assistance output by the control unit to a steering wheel.

Systems and methods for providing a warning to an occupant of a vehicle
A system for providing an alert to an occupant of a vehicle may include one or more processors and a memory. The memory may store a free space detection module, a target detection module, a path prediction module, an activation threshold module, and an alert module. The modules include instructions that cause the one or more processors to determine one or more dimensions of a free space located adjacent to a side of the vehicle, determine one or more dimensions of one or more targets, determine one or more predicted paths of one or more targets, selectively adjust an activation threshold for providing an alert according to the one or more predicted paths, and activate the alert to inform the occupant of a hazard associated with the one or more targets according to whether the one or more predicted paths satisfies the activation threshold.

DETECTING OPERATOR CONTACT WITH A STEERING WHEEL
Detecting operator contact with a steering wheel, including: applying a torque to at least a portion of a steering system of an autonomous vehicle; identifying a measured torque for a steering wheel of the autonomous vehicle; calculating, based on the applied torque, an expected torque for the steering wheel; and determining, based on a difference between the measured torque and the expected torque, whether an operator of the autonomous vehicle is in contact with the steering wheel.
Method and system for detecting use of vehicle safety systems
A system and method for automatically detecting if a vehicle safety system is being used by a driver is disclosed. The system and method use data gathered from one or more sensors in the vehicle. The data is analyzed to determine if the safety system is being used or disabled. The system can send reminders to a driver to use the safety system. The system and method can also automatically update a policy holder's insurance policy to reflect whether or not a safety system is being used.

ADAPTIVE TRUST CALIBRATION
Aspects of adaptive trust calibration may include receiving a trust model for an occupant of an autonomous vehicle calculated based on occupant sensor data and a first scene context sensor data, and/or receiving a second scene context sensor data associated with an environment of the autonomous vehicle, determining an over trust scenario or an under trust scenario based on the trust model and a trust model threshold, and generating and implementing a human machine interface (HMI) action or a driving automation action based on the determination of the over trust scenario or the determination of the under trust scenario, and/or the second scene context sensor data.
Motorcycle with haptic feedback
Haptic devices are installed in a motorcycle's handlebars, footpegs and seat to provide the rider with alerts that relate to hazards. The alert is provided before the rider notices the hazard, or before the rider reacts to the hazard. By giving advance warning, a rider is given extra time to avert a potential accident. The alerts also provide a direct instruction to the rider as to what to do to avoid the accident.
