Systems and methods for delivering packages and consumer items using a plurality of package containers acting as lockers for the items, in which the plurality of package containers are transported between delivery locations by at least one on-road vehicle operative to straddle-over and grab any of the package containers, carry the package containers from one delivery location to another, and release/straddle-off the package containers at delivery locations. Some of the package containers may include multiple lockers, in which case the on-road vehicle transports and releases a package container in a first location, and while the package container awaits an item to be picked up from one of its lockers, the on-road vehicle continues on its way to handle other package containers. When the item is finally picked-up from the locker, the on-road vehicle may return, grab the package container and move it to another location or back to a warehouse.

Systems and methods are provided for determining an autonomous vehicle destination based on an image. In particular, systems and methods are provided for receiving an input image and determining a user’s pick-up location, drop-off location, and/or stop location based on the image-based input. In various implementations, the systems and methods disclosed herein eliminate the need for a user to explicitly input an address to hail a ride.

A vehicle configured to autonomously deliver a package includes a control unit configured to acquire designation information generated along with designation by a user about an unattended delivery location for delivery of the package, and drive the vehicle to place the package at the unattended delivery location designated by the user when the unattended delivery location is identified by verifying the unattended delivery location based on the acquired designation information.

Particular embodiments described herein provide for a system and method for facilitating autonomous delivery using a delivery assembly transported by an autonomous vehicle, the system and method can include determining a location of the delivery assembly and in response to determining the location of the delivery assembly, configuring a user interface to facilitate the autonomous delivery. The user interface has at least a point of origination configuration and a user configuration. In addition, the user interface can authenticate a user, allow the user to access one or more cubbies of the delivery assembly, and inform the user through one or more indicators on the user interface that the user can access a specific cubby.

Deposit of an item upon the receiving area signals presence of the delivery. An agricultural field work vehicle includes a move-off recorder to record, as move-off information, a move-off position or a move-off travel path, the move-off information being information related to the vehicle body having moved off a target travel path while performing agricultural field work during autonomous travel, the move-off position being a position at which the vehicle body moved off the target travel path, the move-off travel path being the target travel path off which the vehicle body moved, and a work return manager to (i) select a resumption travel path based on the move-off information, the resumption travel path being a travel path on which the agricultural field work vehicle, after the vehicle body moved off the target travel path, resumes performing agricultural field work, and (ii) manage a return of the 1vehicle body to the resumption travel path or the move-off position. The work return manager includes a determiner to determine, while the agricultural field work vehicle is being manually driven for the vehicle body to return to the resumption travel path, whether the agricultural field work vehicle is able to transition from manual travel to autonomous travel.

The disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for assisting a customer retrieve a package from an autonomous vehicle. In an example procedure, the autonomous vehicle may detect the customer waiting at a first spot and may determine that the first spot is unsuitable/unsafe for the customer to retrieve a package from a locked compartment in the autonomous vehicle. The autonomous vehicle may therefore instruct the customer to move to a second spot that is safer and closer to the compartment and may then execute an authentication procedure to authenticate the customer and unlock a door of the compartment. In an alternative approach, the autonomous vehicle may travel to a parking spot that is safer and closer to where the customer is waiting (rather than instructing the customer to move) before authenticating and unlocking the door of the compartment to allow the customer to retrieve the package.

A mobile banking system and method include autonomously driving an autonomous vehicle including an automated teller machine (ATM) to a first transaction location, and conducting a first banking transaction at the first transaction location where cash is received by or dispensed from the ATM. Thereafter, a cash amount contained in the ATM is determined, a second transaction location is determined based on the cash amount contained in the ATM.

An automatic shipping method and apparatus using an autonomous driving vehicle are disclosure. An embodiment of the disclosure provides a method and apparatus for providing automatic shipping by using an autonomous driving vehicle, which are applied to the technical field of moving a vehicle first to a vehicle loading dock and then to a loading location on a ship, and fixing the vehicle to the ship, so that a vehicle is automatically loaded onto a ship by autonomous driving of the vehicle based on the map of a loading dock and the ship, and destination information.
