Vehicle control system and vehicle

A vehicle control system includes a vehicle, an information terminal apparatus that can provide, on a display unit, a plurality of contents which provide training on an operation method of the vehicle, and a server that can communicate with the vehicle and the information terminal apparatus. The information terminal apparatus includes a display control unit configured to cause the display unit to display a first content that provides training on an operation method including a method to start an operation of a specific function of the vehicle and a second content that provides, to a user of the vehicle who has been trained by the first content and is registered in the server, training on an operation method corresponding to a phenomenon that can occur while the specific function is provided.

Quality index and real-time forward propagation of virtual controls for smart enablement of automated driving

A system to enable an automobile vehicle automated driving control includes a quality index of an automated driving control system prior to enablement of an automated driving control function of an automobile vehicle. An adaptive forward propagation horizon and a prediction horizon for assessment of the quality index are computed. Vehicle states and road geometry are propagated over the adaptive forward propagation horizon, and the quality index is assessed based on forward propagated states over the prediction horizon. A first signal permits actuation of the automated driving control function of the automobile vehicle and a second signal precludes actuation of the automated driving control function. One of the first signal or the second signal is elected based on the results of assessing a quality control index trajectory over the adaptive forward propagation horizon.

DRIVER-INITIATED DISENGAGEMENT OF AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE CONTROLS

Systems and methods are provided for a selective disengagement mechanism that allows a vehicle passenger, e.g., driver, to pre-emptively prepare to override autonomous control of a vehicle. A selective disengagement switch may be actuated by the driver. An autonomous control system of the vehicle, unaware of the selective disengagement switch operation, may at some point erroneously command the vehicle to move. Because the driver has actuated the selective disengagement switch, upon receipt of the erroneous command to move the vehicle, the autonomous control system may be overridden. The driver need not react to a safety-critical event or scenario.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR NOTIFYING A USER DURING AUTONOMOUS DRIVING

Embodiments herein are directed to a vehicle. The vehicle includes a communication device and an autonomous vehicle controller. The autonomous vehicle controller is communicatively coupled to the communication device. The autonomous vehicle controller is configured to operate the vehicle in between an autonomous driving mode and a manual driving mode. The autonomous vehicle controller includes one or more processors, one or more memory modules communicatively coupled to the one or more processors, and machine readable instructions stored in the one or more memory modules. The machine readable instructions cause the autonomous vehicle controller to perform at least the following when executed by the one or more processors: operate the vehicle in the autonomous driving mode, obtain a vehicle environment information, determine whether an event is required based on the vehicle environment information, and alert the communication device of the event.

VEHICLE AND VEHICLE CONTROL INTERFACE

A vehicle is a vehicle on which an ADK is mountable. The vehicle includes: a VP that controls the vehicle in accordance with an instruction from the ADK; and a VCIB that serves as an interface between the ADK and the VP. The VP outputs an accelerator pedal position signal in accordance with an amount of depression of an accelerator pedal by a driver, and outputs an accelerator pedal intervention signal, to the ADK through the VCIB. The accelerator pedal intervention signal indicates that the accelerator pedal is depressed, when the accelerator pedal position signal indicates that the amount of depression is larger than a threshold value, and indicates beyond autonomy acceleration of the vehicle, when an acceleration request in accordance with the amount of depression is higher than a system acceleration request.

Method and control unit for operating a driver assistance system of a vehicle

A method of organizing and accessing vehicle steering preferences includes identifying first operating configurations from a first list and second operating configurations from a second list. The same file is assigned to each of the first and second operating configurations that are identical to one another. A unique file is assigned to each of the first and second operating configurations that is different from all the other first and second operating configurations. A request is received to operate the vehicle in a driving mode associated with one of the first operating configurations. The vehicle is automatically configured with the first operating configuration associated with the requested driving mode.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SWITCHING BETWEEN A PRIMARY DRIVER AND A SECONDARY DRIVER FOR A VEHICLE

A vehicle system is provided. The vehicle system includes a first driving input device, a second driving input device, and an autonomous vehicle control module. The autonomous vehicle control module is configured to monitor a driving behavior of a first driver operating the first driving input and to automatically transfer vehicle control of a vehicle from the first driver to the second driver when one or more requirements are met based on the driving behavior of the first driver. The autonomous vehicle control module is further configured to analyze switching of vehicle control between the first driver and the second driver.

INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD AND INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM

An information processing method to be executed by a computer includes: obtaining a driving skill of a person who rides an autonomous vehicle, which represents at least one of whether the person can drive a manually-drivable autonomous vehicle or a level at which the person can drive; obtaining specifications of autonomous vehicles about autonomous driving; obtaining a route for transporting the person; determining deviation risks, each of which includes at least one of a possibility of deviation of an autonomous driving system including a corresponding one of the autonomous vehicles from an operational design domain or a degree of the deviation, based on the specifications and the route; selecting an autonomous vehicle assigned to transportation of the person from the autonomous vehicles according to each of the deviation risks and the driving skill; and sending a notification of the selected autonomous vehicle.

VEHICLE CONTROLLER

The vehicle controller includes a processor configured to determine whether a behavior of a driver of the vehicle satisfies a predetermined enabling condition after execution of a function of automatically stopping the vehicle. The function is executed due to not satisfying a driver-related condition for continuing the automated driving control of the vehicle. The enabling condition relates to driving control of the vehicle and is not imposed before the execution of the function. The processor is further configured to perform the automated driving control of the vehicle only when the behavior of the driver satisfies the enabling condition.
