SHIFT CONTROL METHOD FOR A HYBRID VEHICLE
A shift control method for a hybrid vehicle includes: determining whether a request for a kick-down shift has been made; identifying predetermined input torque increase conditions when the kick-down shift request is made; comparing a predetermined input torque increase amount with a predetermined reference value when all of the input torque increase conditions are satisfied; and controlling a driving motor or an auxiliary motor to additionally output the input torque increase amount, based on the result of comparing the input torque increase amount with the reference value.
METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE BITING POINT OF A HYBRID DISCONNECT CLUTCH OF A HYBRID VEHICLE
A method determines the biting point of a hybrid disconnect clutch of a hybrid vehicle. The hybrid disconnect clutch disconnects or connects an internal combustion engine and a first electric motor, which is arranged on the output side. A second electric motor, which is arranged on the internal combustion engine side and is rigidly connected to the internal combustion engine, is operated at a constant rotational speed during electric travel by means of the first electric motor. The hybrid disconnect clutch is moved from the open state toward the closed state and the load on the second electric motor is monitored. When the load on the second electric motor reaches a predefined load threshold value, it is determined that the biting point has been reached.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING ENGINE CLUTCH OF P2 TYPE PARALLEL HYBRID VEHICLE
A method and system for controlling an engine clutch of a P2 type parallel hybrid vehicle includes steps of: determining whether or not a learning mode entry condition is satisfied, depending on whether or not a kickdown shift occurs during performance of variable hydraulic control of an engine clutch and based on the degree to which slip of the engine clutch occurs, deriving and storing a learning hydraulic value for suppressing the slip that is to occur when the kickdown shift occurs during the performance of the variable hydraulic control in such a manner that the slip does not occur, when a vehicle state satisfies a predetermined learning mode entry condition, and computing a final hydraulic pressure by adding a hydraulic compensation value to a target hydraulic pressure, when the same kickdown shift situation occurs, and controlling the engine clutch using the computed final hydraulic pressure.
Hybrid vehicle
A hybrid vehicle includes a connecting/disconnecting clutch disposed between an engine and an electric motor, an automatic transmission including an input clutch, a starting clutch disposed between the electric motor and the automatic transmission, and a control apparatus for executing an engine-start control operation for starting the engine, by igniting the engine after increasing a rotational speed of the engine by a torque of the electric motor while placing the connecting/disconnecting clutch into an engaged state. In process of the engine-start control operation that is executed when the hybrid vehicle is in a stopped state with the starting clutch being in a released state, the control apparatus places the input clutch in an engaged state until the rotational speed of the engine exceeds a predetermined speed value, and switches the input clutch to a released state after the rotational speed of the engine has exceeded the predetermined speed value.
Methods and system for adapting operation of a transmission clutch
Systems and methods for operating a vehicle that includes an engine and an electric machine are described. In one example, an actual total number of transmission gear downshifts are counted to determine whether or not a transmission clutch characterization is immature. The transmission clutch characterization may be adjusted if it is determined to be immature.
Launch control method for a vehicle
A launch control method is provided for a vehicle having an accelerator, a brake and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The method comprises determining: (i) a braking torque set by a vehicle operator by pressing a brake pedal of the vehicle; and (ii) a holding torque required to hold the vehicle in a stationary position. The method also determines that the operator has released the brake pedal. The brake is released whilst engaging a launch clutch of the CVT, wherein the launch clutch is engaged by increasing a clutch engagement pressure at a first pressure ramp rate, such that the sum of the braking torque and a clutch torque of the clutch remains equal to the holding torque. An acceleration torque requested by the operator via the accelerator is determined. The clutch engagement pressure is increased at a second pressure ramp rate when it is determined that the braking torque is substantially zero, such that the clutch torque is increased by the acceleration torque. A fixed minimum pressure ramp rate is stored, wherein the minimum pressure ramp rate increases the clutch engagement pressure towards a maximum engagement pressure. The current pressure ramp rate is compared with the minimum pressure ramp rate, and the clutch engagement pressure is switched to the minimum pressure ramp rate if the current pressure ramp rate is less than the minimum pressure ramp rate.
HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROLLER
A hybrid vehicle controller is configured to: upon receiving a predetermined mode switching request, bring a clutch into a half-clutch state to start an engine using rotation of a transmission shaft; and upon determining that the engine has started, shift the clutch from the half-clutch state to a stand-by state and subsequently shift the clutch to an engaged state, the stand-by state being a state which is intermediate between the half-clutch state and a disengaged state and in which drive power of the engine is not transmitted to the transmission shaft.
