High efficiency, high output transmission having an aluminum housing
A transmission includes an input shaft coupled to a prime mover, a countershaft, main shaft, and an output shaft, with gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. A shift actuator selectively couples the input shaft to the main shaft by rotatably coupling gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. The shift actuator is mounted on an exterior wall of a housing including the countershaft and the main shaft. An integrated actuator housing includes a single external power access for the shift actuator. A controller interprets a shaft displacement angle, determines if the transmission is in an imminent zero or zero torque region, and performs a transmission operation in response to the transmission in the imminent zero or zero torque region.
METHOD AND CONTROL UNIT FOR OPERATING A DRIVETRAIN OF A MOTOR VEHICLE COMPRISING A POWER TAKE-OFF
A method for operating a motor vehicle drivetrain having a transmission connected between a drive aggregate and a drive output, a Power Take-Off (PTO) that can be coupled to the drive aggregate on drive aggregate side to take up drive torque from the drive aggregate. In order to determine the torque taken up by the PTO, the transmission is first shifted to interrupt torque to the transmission output. Thereafter, a defined torque is delivered by the drive aggregate, at least with the PTO coupled to the drive aggregate, and, during this at defined time-points, rotational speeds of a shaft driven by the drive aggregate are determined and from this an angular acceleration of the shaft is determined. A first torque of the shaft is determined from the shaft angular acceleration while the PTO is coupled. Based on the first torque, the torque taken up by the PTO is determined.
Controlling the powertrain of a vehicle
The power train of an electric vehicle includes an electric motor and a gearbox coupling the electric motor to a drive wheel. A controller may be configured to initiate a gear shift in the gearbox, and activate one or both of (a) a torque jog in electric motor, or (b) a burst of a pressurized fluid in an actuator to assist with the gear shift.
Gear-shifting method for an electric drive system
A gear change method for an electric transmission system (1), the electric transmission system (1) including an electric machine (2), a multi-stage transmission (3) drivingly connected downstream from the electric machine (2) and having interruption of tractive force, and at least one brake (4) for braking a vehicle wheel (5), the method including transferring the brake (4) out of an inoperative condition into a readiness condition during a gear change operation of the transmission (3).
CONTROL METHOD FOR ISG OF VEHICLE PROVIDED WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND VEHICLE OF WHICH THE CONTROL METHOD IS APPLIED
A control method of controlling an idle stop-and-go (ISG) function of a vehicle provided with a manual transmission includes: determining, by a controller, whether an ISG function activation condition is satisfied based on vehicle running state information of the vehicle; stopping an engine, by the controller, when the ISG activation condition is satisfied; determining, by the controller, whether a first starting condition in which a shift stage of the manual transmission is a neutral stage is satisfied; determining, by the controller, whether a second starting condition in which a shift stage of the manual transmission is a driving stage is satisfied; and restarting, by the controller, the engine when the first starting condition or the second starting condition is satisfied. The vehicle running state information includes: an operation information of the manual transmission and a clutch pedal, and current and recorded vehicle speeds of the vehicle.
DRIVING ASSIST APPARATUS FOR MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLE
A driving assist apparatus for a manual transmission vehicle includes a traveling environment information acquisition unit, a power transmission detector and a controller. The traveling environment information acquisition unit is configured to acquire traveling environment information ahead of the vehicle. The power transmission detector is configured to detect engagement or disengagement of power transmission between a drive source and a drive wheel. The controller is configured to, when recognizing a target object ahead of the vehicle based on the traveling environment information acquired by the traveling environment information acquisition unit, control a vehicle speed of the vehicle in accordance with a distance between the vehicle and the target object. When the power transmission detector detects engagement of power transmission, the controller performs automatic brake control in accordance with a distance between a vehicle and a target object ahead of the vehicle acquired by the traveling environment information acquisition unit.
METHOD OF CONTROLLING GEAR SHIFT IN NEUTRAL GEAR STAGE IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE
A method of controlling a gear shifting in a neutral gear stage for shortening a gear shifting time in the neutral gear stage when performing a gear shifting of a hybrid electric vehicle is characterized in that when a shift class of the gear shifting is determined, a hybrid control unit of the vehicle determines a shift gear ratio in the N-stage in a current state by use of a transmission (TM) output speed and a transmission (TM) input speed at a class transition time point, determines an N-stage gear shifting progressing rate by use of the determined N-stage shift gear ratio, sets time points of a start and an end of the gear shifting based on the determined gear shifting progressing rate, and controls the gear shifting speed in the N-stage with reference to a gear shifting target speed and the transmission input speed in a section of the time points of the start and the end of the speed control.
