Driving assistance device and driving assistance method
A driving assistance apparatus comprises a processor for: determining whether or not a preceding vehicle is traveling outside an area including an intersection and vicinities of the intersection; when the preceding vehicle is traveling outside the area, determining whether or not a direction indicator of the preceding vehicle on a road shoulder side is lighting; and when the direction indicator is lighting, performing second driving assistance different from first driving assistance for following the preceding vehicle.
ESTIMATING DANGER FROM FUTURE FALLING CARGO
A method for estimating a future fall of a cargo, the method may include receiving by a computerized system, sensed information related to driving sessions of multiple vehicles; applying a machine learning process on the sensed information to detect actual or estimated cargo falling events and generate one or more future falling cargo predictors for multiple types of cargo; estimating, from the sensed information, an impact of cargo falling events related to at least some of the types of cargo; and responding to the estimating, wherein the responding comprises at least one out of (a) storing the one or more future falling cargo predictors for the multiple types of cargo, (b) transmitting the one or more future falling cargo predictors for the multiple types of cargo; (c) storing the estimated impact of cargo falling events related to the at least some of the types of cargo, and (d) transmitting the impact of cargo falling events related to the at least some of the types of cargo.
WRONG-WAY DRIVING WARNING
Using a read sensor to sense wrong-way driving. A method may include sensing, by a rear sensor of a vehicle, an environment of the vehicle to provide rear sensed information; processing the rear sensed information to provide at least one rear-sensed vehicle progress direction indications; generating or receiving at least one front-sensed vehicle progress direction indications; wherein the at least one front-sensed vehicle progress direction indications is generated by processing front-sensed information acquired during right-way progress; comparing at least one rear-sensed vehicle progress direction indications to the at least one front-sensed vehicle progress direction indications to determine whether the vehicle is wrong-way driving; and responding to the finding of the wrong-way driving
USING REAR SENSOR FOR WRONG-WAY DRIVING WARNING

Controlling Vehicles Based on Whether Objects are Carried by Other Vehicles
Systems, methods and computer readable media for controlling vehicles in response to objects are provided. For example, one or more images captured using one or more image sensors from an environment of a first vehicle may be obtained. The one or more images to detect an object may be analyzed. In may be determined whether the object is carried by a second vehicle. In response to a determination that the object is not carried by a second vehicle, the first vehicle may be caused to initiate an action responding to the object, and in response to a determination that the object is carried by a second vehicle, causing the first vehicle to initiate the action may be withheld.
TRAVEL CONTROL DEVICE, TRAVEL CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM
A travel control device comprising: a control unit configured to control travel of a vehicle; a first acquisition unit configured to acquire information regarding the surroundings of the vehicle; and a second acquisition unit configured to acquire vehicle information regarding another vehicle traveling in the same direction as the vehicle in a different lane from the lane that the vehicle is traveling in with at least a part of the other vehicle forward of the vehicle, the vehicle information regarding the other vehicle being included in the information regarding the surroundings of the vehicle acquired by the first acquisition unit, wherein, if the vehicle information regarding the other vehicle fulfills a condition, the control unit, in accordance with a state of approach of the vehicle to the other vehicle, performs control so that the vehicle decelerates.
EMERGENCY DRIVER ASSISTANT
A method for emergency assistance, the method may include detecting a vehicle situation or receiving information regarding the vehicle situation; monitoring an interaction of a driver with at least one member of a group of vehicle control elements to provide monitored interaction information, wherein the group of vehicle control elements comprises a brake and a gas pedal; determining, based on the vehicle situation and the monitored interaction information, whether the monitored interaction is indicative of an emergency situation; wherein the determining comprises applying a decision rule that is responsive to the vehicle situation; and applying an emergency situation driving procedure when determining that the monitored interaction is indicative of the emergency situation.
Control method and control device of automatic driving vehicle
An interest level detection unit configured to detect a level of interest of an occupant in a travel state of an automatic driving vehicle, a manual driving characteristic learning unit configured to learn manual driving characteristics based on the travel state of the automatic driving vehicle, and an automatic driving characteristic setting unit configured to set automatic driving characteristics based on a surrounding state of the automatic driving vehicle, an interest level determination unit configured to determine the occupant's level of interest in the vehicle travel and a driving characteristic setting unit configured to set the driving characteristics based on the manual driving characteristics learned in the manual driving characteristic learning unit when the level of interest is determined to be high and set the automatic driving characteristics set by the automatic driving characteristic setting unit when the level of interest is determined to be low.
Information processing apparatus and non-transitory computer-readable recording medium
An information processing apparatus mounted on a first vehicle includes a recognizer that recognizes a second vehicle that is present in a travelling direction of the first vehicle on a basis of sensing information obtained from a sensor attached to an outside of the first vehicle, and a determiner that determines whether or not control for overtaking the recognized second vehicle is executed. The apparatus also includes a generator that generates first information for moving the first vehicle in a second direction toward a second road end in a case where the determiner determines that the control for overtaking is executed, the second road end being opposite to a first road end toward which a first direction is directed, and the first direction being a direction in which the first vehicle moves in order to overtake the second vehicle. The apparatus further includes an outputter that outputs the generated first information.
