Enhanced adaptive cruise control

While operating a host vehicle in a lane, a target vehicle is detected entering the lane in front of the vehicle. A trajectory of the target vehicle is predicted based on sensor data. Upon determining that the target vehicle will pass through the lane based on the predicted trajectory, the host vehicle is operated based on determining a presence or an absence of a lead vehicle. Upon determining that the target vehicle will remain in the lane based on the predicted trajectory, the host vehicle is operated with the target vehicle as the lead vehicle.

VEHICLE DRIVING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS, VEHICLE DRIVING ASSISTANCE METHOD, AND COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM STORING VEHICLE DRIVING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

A vehicle driving assistance apparatus predicts (i) a first consumed energy amount corresponding to a consumed energy amount consumed by a driving apparatus of an own vehicle when executing a first following control and (ii) a second consumed energy amount corresponding to the consumed energy amount consumed by the driving apparatus of the own vehicle when executing the second following control. The apparatus executes the second following control when the second consumed energy amount is smaller than the first consumed energy amount. On the other hand, the apparatus executes the first following control when the second consumed energy amount is equal to or greater than the first consumed energy amount.

SYSTEM FOR PREDICTING A LOCATION-BASED MANEUVER OF A REMOTE VEHICLE IN AN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE
20230234612 · 2023-07-27 ·

A system for an autonomous vehicle that predicts a location-based maneuver of a remote vehicle located in a surrounding environment includes one or more vehicle sensors collecting sensory data indicative of one or more vehicles located in the surrounding environment. The system also includes one or more automated driving controllers in electronic communication with the one or more vehicle sensors. The one or more automated driving controllers execute instructions to compare a lane of travel of the remote vehicle with a current lane of travel of the autonomous vehicle. In response to determining the lane of travel of the remote vehicle is a different lane than the current lane of the autonomous vehicle, the one or more automated driving controllers predict the location-based maneuver of the remote vehicle based on aggregated vehicle metrics that are based on historical data collected at the specific geographical location.

Cruise control method for hybrid vehicle

A cruise control method for a hybrid vehicle is provided. The method includes detecting a preceding vehicle and estimating the speed of the preceding vehicle from the information input from a preceding vehicle detecting unit in the on state of a cruise mode and a PnG mode. An upper limit target vehicle speed and a lower limit target vehicle speed are determined from the estimated speed of the preceding vehicle. The driving source of the vehicle is operated to alternately repeat the acceleration (pulse phase) and deceleration (glide phase) of the vehicle between the determined upper limit target vehicle speed and lower limit target vehicle speed.

Vehicle trajectory prediction near or at traffic signal

A system and method for determining a predicted trajectory of a human-driven host vehicle as the human-driven host vehicle approaches a traffic signal. The method includes: obtaining a host vehicle-traffic light distance d.sub.x and a longitudinal host vehicle speed v.sub.x that are each taken when the human-driven host vehicle approaches the traffic signal; obtaining a traffic light signal phase P.sub.t and an traffic light signal timing T.sub.t; obtaining a time of day TOD; providing the host vehicle-traffic light distance d.sub.x, the longitudinal host vehicle speed v.sub.x, the traffic light signal phase P.sub.t, the traffic light signal timing T.sub.t, and the time of day TOD as input into an artificial intelligence (AI) vehicle trajectory prediction application, wherein the AI vehicle trajectory prediction application implements an AI vehicle trajectory prediction model; and determining the predicted trajectory of the human-driven host vehicle using the AI vehicle trajectory prediction application.

CRUISE CONTROL METHOD AND SYSTEM, AND VEHICLE

A cruise control method and system, and a vehicle, the method being applied to a first vehicle. When the first vehicle is driving in a first lane, before the first vehicle enters from the first lane into a preset recognition region to thereby complete vehicle identity recognition in the preset recognition region, the cut-in probability of a second vehicle cutting into the first lane can be predicted according to a movement parameter of the second vehicle that is in an adjacent second lane, and it is determined, according to the cut-in probability and the stopping time of the first vehicle, whether to brake to stop the first vehicle; therefore, during the process of controlling the first vehicle to pass through the preset recognition region, the driver is not required to temporarily take over control of the first vehicle.
