Road User Categorization Through Monitoring
Categorizing driving behaviors of other road users includes maintaining a first history of first lateral-offset values of a road user with respect to a center line of a lane of a road; determining a first pattern based on the first history of the first lateral-offset values; determining a driving behavior of the road user based on the first pattern; and autonomously performing, by a host vehicle, a driving maneuver based on the driving behavior of the road user. The first history can be maintained for a predetermined period of time. An apparatus includes a processor that is configured to track a trajectory history of a road user; determine, based on the trajectory history, a driving behavior of the road user; and transmit a notification of the driving behavior.

A vehicle behavior prediction device includes a target vehicle detection unit configured to detect a target vehicle existing in a road region, a distance acquisition unit configured to acquire a front distance that is a distance between the target vehicle and an obstacle existing in front of the target vehicle, a turning radius estimation unit configured to estimate a turning radius of the target vehicle, and an entry prediction unit configured to predict whether or not the target vehicle is able to enter a host lane while avoiding an obstacle.
ROAD INFORMATION COLLECTION DEVICE
An in-vehicle device includes a vehicle detection unit that detects behavior of a user's own vehicle that is traveling, a neighboring vehicle detection unit that detects behavior of a neighboring vehicle preceding the user's vehicle, a neighboring vehicle following the user's vehicle, or both of neighboring vehicles, a road determination unit that determines the condition of a road on which the user's vehicle is traveling on the basis of behavior of the user's vehicle detected by the user's vehicle detection unit and behavior of a neighboring vehicle detected by the neighboring vehicle detection unit, and a transmission information creation unit and a transmission unit that transmit road information including a determination result by the road determination unit.
DETECTING DRIVING BEHAVIOR OF VEHICLES
Systems and methods for determining whether a vehicle is driving in an unsafe or unsatisfactory manner are disclosed. In some implementations, a system may determine one or more driving scores for a vehicle based on observations of a driving behavior of the vehicle during a time period. The system may generate an indication of unsatisfactory driving based on at least one of the one or more driving scores exceeding a threshold value. The system may provide the indication of unsatisfactory driving to one or more entities. In some aspects, the system may identify one or more dangerous driving attributes exhibited by the vehicle during the time period based on the observations received from the one or more devices. The system may also generate the indication of unsatisfactory driving based at least in part on the identified dangerous driving attributes.
Vehicle collision alert system and method
An impairment analysis (“IA”) computer system for detecting an impairment is provided. The IA computer system is associated with a host vehicle, and includes at least one processor in communication with at least one memory device. The at least one processor is programmed to: (i) interrogate or otherwise scan a target vehicle by using a plurality of sensors included on a host vehicle to scan the target vehicle and a target driver; (ii) receive sensor data including target driver data and target vehicle condition data; (iii) analyze the sensor data by applying a baseline model to the sensor data; (iv) detect an impairment of the target driver or target vehicle based upon the analysis; and/or (v) output an alert signal to a host vehicle controller, or direct collision preventing actions (such as automatically engage vehicle safety systems), based upon the determination that the target driver or target vehicle is impaired.
VEHICULAR DISPLAY CONTROL DEVICE, VEHICULAR DISPLAY DEVICE, VEHICLE, VEHICULAR DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY RECORDING MEDIUM
In cases in which an other vehicle traveling along an adjacent lane, which is adjacent to a travel lane of a host vehicle is executing a cut-in operation to move from the adjacent lane to a cut-in position ahead of the host vehicle in the travel lane, a processor controls a display section configured to display a travel lane image representing the travel lane, an adjacent lane image representing the adjacent lane, a lane boundary line image representing a lane boundary line defining a boundary between the travel lane and the adjacent lane, and an other vehicle image representing the other vehicle, such that the display section causes the other vehicle image to move in a discontinuous manner from a first position on the adjacent lane image to a second position on the lane boundary line image.
TRAFFIC FLOW RISK PREDICTION AND MITIGATION
A method for determining a risk boundary in response to the plurality of indications of hard braking events wherein the risk boundary is indicative of a plurality of speed flow pairs at which a risk of a hard braking event is below a threshold value, determining, at a road segment level, a set of speed flow pairs of average speed and vehicle count and a plurality of indications of hard braking events , determining a host vehicle speed, and performing at least one of reducing the host vehicle speed and increasing a host vehicle following distance in response to the host vehicle speed exceeding the risk boundary for the vehicle flow density.
DRIVER FAULT INFLUENCE VECTOR CHARACTERIZATION
An apparatus, including: an interface configured to receive raw images of one or more objects across a timeseries of frames corresponding to a movement event from a perspective of a vehicle of interest (Vol); and processing circuitry that is configured to: track a change in intensity or direction information represented in motion vectors (MVs) generated based on the raw images; generate, based on the change in the intensity or direction information, a weight of an influence vector representing a Vol influence on the movement event; and transmit the weight of the influence vector and an identity of the movement event to an assessment system that is configured to utilize the weight of the influence vector in an assessment of the Vol.
CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL PROGRAM PRODUCT
A control device is used in a subject vehicle capable of performing autonomous driving with no obligation for a driver to monitor periphery. The control device determines whether a permission state, in which a specific act other than driving is permitted to the driver, is continued or not when approach of an emergency vehicle to the subject vehicle is detected during an autonomous cruising period in which the autonomous driving is being performed. The control device restricts display of a content provided to the driver when the permission state of the specific act is determined to be not continued.
DRIVING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS
A driving assistance apparatus includes an outside recognition device, a locator unit, and a driving control unit. The outside recognition device is configured to acquire traffic environment information around the vehicle. The locator unit is configured to store road map information and detect a position of the vehicle based on a positioning signal. The driving control unit is configured to control the vehicle based on forward traffic environment information acquired by the outside recognition device. The driving control unit is configured to execute a wrong-way driving detection process and a restricted traffic zone determination process to determine whether the vehicle is performing wrong-way driving in an oncoming lane. The wrong-way driving detection process involves detecting wrong-way driving of the vehicle from the traffic environment information, and the restricted traffic zone determination process involves detecting a restricted traffic zone in a driving lane of the vehicle from the traffic environment information.
