An example disclosed trailer hitch system includes a hitch including a hitch ball to receive a trailer, an anti-sway bar extending from the hitch, anti-sway chains to couple the anti-sway bar to the trailer, sensors, and a controller. The controller is to emit an alert responsive to detecting, via the sensors, that at least one of the anti-sway chains is decoupled from at least one of the anti-sway bar and the trailer.

In some embodiments, a gear position sensor assembly includes a transmission shaft of a transmission, and a pair of magnets coupled to the transmission shaft. A first magnet of the pair of magnets may have a first magnetization direction, and a second magnet of the pair of magnets may have a second magnetization direction different (e.g., opposite) than the first magnetization direction. The gear position sensor may further include at least one magnetic sensor disposed adjacent the pair of magnets, the magnetic sensor capable of sensing three-dimensional motion of the pair of magnets and providing an output indicating movement, such as translation and rotation, of the transmission shaft. In some embodiments, each of the magnets is cuboid-shaped.

A first key and a second key each include at least one unique identifier, wherein the sensor module is adapted to receive either the first key or the second key that are each adapted to magnetically couple with the sensor module. The control system also includes a control unit, wherein the programmable sensor is adapted to identify at least one of the keys by the unique identifier, and send at least one information signal to the control unit based upon the unique identifier.
