RAILROAD TRACK POWERED MEASUREMENT DEVICE AND RAILROAD MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
A railroad measurement system includes a railroad track powered measurement device providing measurement signals of electrical quantities across rails of a railroad track; a wayside control device adapted to receive the measurement signals provided by the railroad track powered measurement device; and a communication network interfacing with the railroad track powered measurement device and adapted to transmit data, wherein the railroad track powered measurement device is adapted to transmit the measurement signals of the electrical quantities via the communication network, and the wayside control device is adapted to receive the measurement signals.
RAILROAD VIRTUAL TRACK BLOCK SYSTEM
A method of railroad track control includes partitioning a physical track block into a plurality of virtual track blocks, the physical track block defined by first and second insulated joints disposed at corresponding first and second ends of a length of railroad track. The presence of an electrical circuit discontinuity in one of the plurality of virtual track blocks; is detected and in response a corresponding virtual track block position code indicating the presence of the discontinuity in the one of the plurality of virtual track blocks is generated.
Track circuit mechanical joint integrity checker
An electrically insulating mechanical joint checker for mechanical joints connecting rails of following track segments of a railway line, each track segment forming part of a track circuit. The track segment includes electric signal transmitting units and receiving units for transmitting and receiving train presence detection signals within the track segment and/or relating communication signals between the train and the track segment. The train presence detection signals and communication signals include a further joint detection signal, generated and transmitted by the transmitting units and received by the receiving units belonging to the same track segment, the joint detection signal relating to the track segment being different at least in respect to the one relating to the adjacent track segments. A method to detect a failure or breakage of a mechanical joint inside a track segment is also disclosed.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING THE PRESENCE OF A TRAIN ON A RAILWAY TRACK
A system for detecting the presence of a train on a railway track (1b) comprising a plurality of sections (2a, 2b, . . . , 2n), the system comprising: a transmitter (10b) arranged to emit a main signal towards the plurality of sections (2a, 2b, . . . , 2n); a plurality of selecting devices (14a, 14b, . . . , 14n) associated respectively to the plurality of sections (2a, 2b, . . . , 2n) along the railway track (1b) and arranged to selectively allow passage of said main signal towards respective sections of said plurality of sections (2a, 2b, . . . , 2n); a receiver (12b) arranged to receive the main signal after having passed through the plurality of sections (2a, 2b, . . . , 2n); a control unit (20) associated to said receiver (12b) arranged to perform an analysis of said received signal so as to detect the presence of a train on a predetermined section (2a, 2b, . . . , 2n) of said plurality of sections (2a, 2b, 2n).
MONITORING DEVICE FOR MONITORING A RAILWAY TRACK, ASSOCIATED METHOD AND MONITORING SYSTEM FOR MONITORING A RAILWAY TRACK
A monitoring device monitoring a railway track, including a track interface connecting the monitoring device to the railway track. Also included is a detector detecting a first track pulse having a first duration emitted on the railway track and received through the track interface. The detector can detect a start and end time of the first track pulse. A charger is connected to the detector and has an energy storage element. Further, there is an emitter emitting a second track pulse on the railway track through the track interface by using energy stored in the energy storage element and the detector can send a transmit control signal to the emitter.
WARM OR HOT STANDBY TRACK CARD MODULE FOR USE ON A WAYSIDE OF A RAILWAY SYSTEM
A coded track circuit of a signaling control equipment to be located at a wayside location of a railway track is provided. The coded track circuit comprises a first track circuit card coupled to rails of the railway track to detect an absence of a train on the railway track, inform signallers and control relevant signals via track codes. The coded track circuit further comprises a second track circuit card coupled to rails of the railway track, the second track circuit card is inactive but ready to provide a warm-standby or a hot-standby such that the second track circuit card to take over control from the first track circuit card should the first track circuit card fails.
System and method for virtual block stick circuits
A system and method for virtual block stick circuits is presented. The present disclosure implements specialized algorithms adapted to determine the true status of a virtual block based on multiple inputs from different perspectives. In one embodiment, the system can use the far house perspective of that virtual track segment and the PTC hazard for the near virtual track segment directly adjacent to the near house uses the near house perspective of that virtual track segment. For the middle virtual track segments, the near house perspectives of the middle virtual track segments are held TRUE if they are already TRUE when the train first enters the block, using stick circuits for the near house perspective of the middle track circuits. The vital application can then indicate the true state of the virtual track segment as occupied (FALSE), to protect the train from trains that follow.
WAYSIDE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM USING POWER GRID LINES
A wayside communication system for transmitting coded current signals through running rails of a railroad track between wayside control devices. A power line common to the wayside control devices is used as the return path for the current signals. The system features train and broken rail detection. The system allows sending signals long distances since rail to rail current leakage is no longer an issue.
Mount for simulated rail track load inductor
A simulated track inductor mount including a base configured to be fixed against a supporting surface and an inductor hub attached to and extending from the base. The inductor hub includes one or more surfaces defining a margin and being configured to engage with an inner surface of the simulated track inductor, and the one or more surfaces are fixed to a camming tab configured to flex to removably seat the simulated track inductor on the inductor hub.
