Rail check device and rail check system
The present invention addresses the problem of checking defects of a rail for a vehicle with a high SN ratio. A detection device (2) for generating check data related to the defects of a railway rail RR (rail for a vehicle) is provided with an oscillating coil C1 (211) and an oscillating coil C2 (211) that are disposed on the surface opposite the railway rail RR and generate AC magnetic fields whose directions are opposite to each other, and a receiving coil (212) that is positioned between or in the vicinity the oscillation coils and that outputs a magnetic field waveform based on the magnetic fields received from the oscillating coils as the check data.
MONITOR VEHICLE FOR A RAIL SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF
A monitor vehicle for a rail system includes a wheeled trolley, an overhead vehicle, a supporting structure, and a first sensor. The wheeled trolley is above a rail of the rail system, is operable to move over the rail, and has a bottom surface. The overhead vehicle body is suspended by the wheeled trolley and below the rail. The supporting structure connects the wheeled trolley and the overhead vehicle body. The first sensor is on the bottom surface of the wheeled trolley and is configured to detect a first parameter of the rail of the rail system.
Vehicle control system and method
A system and method for examining a route and/or vehicle system obtain a route parameter and/or a vehicle parameter from discrete examinations of the route and/or the vehicle system. The route parameter is indicative of a health of the route over which the vehicle system travels. The vehicle parameter is indicative of a health of the vehicle system. The discrete examinations of the route and/or the vehicle system are separated from each other by location and/or time. The route parameter and/or the vehicle parameter are examined to determine whether the route and/or the vehicle system is damaged and, responsive to determining that the route and/or the vehicle is damaged, the route and/or the vehicle system are continually monitored, such as by examination equipment onboard the vehicle system.
Safeguarding system for an emergency fish-plate connector
A safeguarding system for an emergency fish-plate connector is fastened to a rail base of the rail and has a distance measuring device for supplying a measuring value registering a distance a between the emergency fish-plate connector and the safeguarding system. For transmission of the detected measuring values and of an identifying signalenabling a locally unambiguous correlation of the emergency fish-plate connector with regard to the trackto a control station, the safeguarding system is equipped with a radio device.
Integrated rail and track condition monitoring system with imaging and inertial sensors
A railroad track inspection system has multiple track scanning sensors, a data store, and a scan data processor. The scan data processor provides automatic analysis of the track scan data to detect track components within the scan data from a predetermined list of component types according to features identified in said scan data. The track scanning sensors, data store and scan data processor are attached to a common support structure for mounting the system to a railway vehicle in use. An inertia sensor and common master clock are used to make corrections to the output of the track scanning sensors to accommodate dynamic forces in use. The inspection system may be provided in a single housing for mounting to a conventional passenger/freight rail vehicles and may operate automatically in an unattended mode. The location of track components and/or defects may be logged.
Smart Rail Wheelset Bearing
In some embodiments, a method (and system) may include measuring data points within (or on) a wheelset environment. The wheelset environment may be local to a wheelset of a train. The method (and system) may compare a signature of the data points of the wheelset environment to an expected signature. The expected signature may represent a baseline of normal operations within a rail environment. The method (and system) may determine a condition within the rail environment responsive to the comparison of the signature to the expected signature.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RAILROAD TRACK GEOMETRY MEASUREMENT
Methods and systems for detecting and measuring physical conditions of a railroad track based on image-based distance measurements are provided. In embodiments, at least one object associated with a condition of a railroad track is detected in at least one image. A first point and a second point on the at least one object is detected. A pixel distance between the first point and the second point is measured, and a physical distance-based measurement of the condition of the railroad track is determined, using a conversion model, based on the pixel distance between the first point and the second point. An alert is generated when the physical distance-based measurement of the condition of the railroad track exceeds a predetermined threshold.
Rail breakage detection device and rail breakage result management system
A rail breakage detection device includes a first core part provided to a first cable connecting an electrical neutral point of an impedance bond that electrically connects a first rail and a second rail to the first rail, a second core part provided to a second cable connecting the electrical neutral point of the impedance bond to the second rail, a first coil wound around the first core part to generate a first electromotive force in accordance with a current variation occurring in the first cable, a second coil connected electrically to the first coil and wound around the second core part to generate a second electromotive force in accordance with a current variation occurring in the second cable, and a CPU to determine that the first or second rail is broken based on an electromotive force that is a sum of the first and second electromotive forces.
Systems and methods for visualizing and analyzing a rail surface
A system for analyzing a railroad track comprises a transport device, a camera coupled to the transport device, an electronic display device, a memory device, and one or more processors. The camera is disposed adjacent to a rail of the railroad track and generates image data reproducible as one or more images of at least a portion of a surface of the rail. The processors can produce an image of the rail surface, which includes a plurality of elongated portions. The image is analyzed to identify any defects that exist within each elongated portion of the rail surface. The processors determine a value of a metric for each elongated portion of the rail surface. The metric is associated with the identified defects. The electronic display device displays a graph indicative of the metric for each elongated portion, the image of the rail surface, or both.
Method, system, computer-readable medium comprising software code for estimating parameters of railway track circuits, and related track circuit
Estimating electrical parameters of a track circuit including a transmitter, a receiver, and a track section between the transmitter and receiver. The transmitter outputs, over the track section towards the receiver, a signal including a data packet part, and the signal received by the receiver is decoded to determine the data packet received. Simulated signals are generated, via a predetermined software model including parameters of the track circuit, by varying an actual value input for the model parameters, each signal generated corresponding to actual values input for the parameters. Each simulated signal is compared with the signal received at a receiver until finding a part of a simulated signal that matches a corresponding part of the signal received at a receiver. The actual parameter values corresponding to the simulated signal that match the signal received at the receiver are estimated as the actual parameters of the track circuit.
