Operator control unit for a steering wheel, and steering wheel having the same
An operator control unit for a steering wheel and a steering wheel having such an operator control unit. The operating control unit having a housing which is insertable into a steering wheel spoke of the steering wheel and which has at least one housing side wall and a housing base, having an electrical contact element provided in the housing, and having at least one actuating element which is mounted movably on the housing and which acts with an electrical switching action on the contact element. In order to extend the functionality of the operator control unit but maintain the compact structural form, it is proposed that the operator control unit have a fan for a steering wheel temperature control arrangement and a flow channel which is acted on by the fan, which flow channel is formed by the housing base and has an inlet and outlet opening on the housing.
In-vehicle interface device and vehicle
An interface device to be mounted on an autonomous vehicle includes: a right operation switch and a left operation switch provided on a steering wheel; a display device disposed ahead of the steering wheel; and an IF controller configured to control the display device, the controller being configured to cause the display device to display an intention confirmation image when it is necessary to confirm a driver's intention regarding autonomous travel. The intention confirmation image includes an inquiry image, a right guide image displayed on the right side of a horizontal center of the inquiry image, the right guide image indicating a choice selectable with the right operation switch, and a left guide image displayed on the left side of the horizontal center of the inquiry image, the left guide image indicating a choice selectable with the left operation switch.
Manual torque vectoring
A vehicle includes a rear axle having wheels, friction brakes associated with the wheels, and a driver-actuatable input. A vehicle controller is programmed to, in response to the vehicle being in drift mode and the driver-actuatable input being actuated: command zero torque to the wheels, regardless of a driver-demanded torque, for a duration of time; command engagement of the friction brakes responsive to the duration of time ending; and command torque to the wheels responsive to a speed of the wheels being less than a threshold.
Vehicle driving assist system with driver attentiveness assessment
A driving assist system for a vehicle includes a driver monitoring system that includes a plurality of sensors disposed in a vehicle and sensing driver hand positions of a driver driving the vehicle. A control includes a processor operable to process data sensed by the sensors to determine the driver hand positions of the driver driving the vehicle. The control, responsive to processing of data sensed by the sensors and at least in part responsive to the determined sensed driver hand positions, is operable to determine a level of attentiveness of the driver. The driving assistance system of the vehicle operates to provide driving assistance of the vehicle responsive at least in part to the determined level of attentiveness of the driver.
DETECTION MECHANISM
A sensor electrode and an insulating body are coupled together by a hot melt member in a sensor of a steering wheel. The sensor electrode makes contact with the insulating body at first protrusions so as to form through holes in the hot melt member. The hot melt member is accordingly able to stretch easily due to the through holes, enabling a high extensibility for the sensor to be achieved.
Capacitive device for detecting the presence of a person close to or in contact with a component of a motor vehicle
A capacitive detection device that may include at least one electrode of a capacitive sensor, an alternating voltage source, a device for measuring a complex value of impedance or admittance between the detection electrode and an electrical circuit reference point and a calibration resistor, and a switching device arranged so as to connect the voltage source to the electrode, in the measurement mode, and to connect the voltage source to the calibration resistor and disconnect the voltage source from the electrode, in the calibration mode. The measuring device is arranged so as to measure a first complex value of the calibration resistor, during operation in the calibration mode; to measure a second complex value between the electrode and the electrical circuit reference point during operation in measurement mode, and to correct the second measured complex value according to the first measured complex value.
SWITCH MODULE
A switch module includes a lever switch to operate at least one electronic device mounted on a vehicle by an operation on an operation lever, and a case that is integrated with the lever switch installed thereto and is installed to a back side of a steering of the vehicle so as to integrally rotate with the steering. The case is box-shaped with a front surface portion open, and the lever switch is installed by sliding from the front surface portion toward a back surface portion into an installation opening that is formed on a side surface of the case and has a cut-out shape extending the front surface portion toward the back surface portion.
ELECTRIC CIRCUIT STRUCTURE FOR AN ALTERNATING HEATING AND CAPACITIVE MEASURING MODE, AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
A circuit structure and a method for carrying out an alternating heating and capacitive measuring mode by a common heating wire is presented. The method includes carrying out a heating mode, during which from a switching by a control circuit switching elements are in a conducting state, the switching elements are connected in series, so that the heating wire is supplied with a heating current from two different heating potentials; triggering a change into a detecting mode by the control circuit, so that the switching elements switch from the heating mode into a measuring mode, during which the switching elements are in a blocking state, so that the two different heating potentials are each interrupted several times; carrying out the measuring mode, in which the capacitance of the heating wire relative to a reference potential is determined by a detecting circuit by applying to the heating wire an alternating voltage.
VEHICLE HAVING STEERING WHEEL SWITCHES AND METHOD TO REDUCE FALSE ACTUATION
A vehicle is provided that includes a steering wheel, a steering wheel sensor sensing rotational movement of the steering wheel, an accelerator pedal actuatable to accelerate the vehicle, a brake pedal actuatable to decelerate the vehicle, and a sensor sensing a signal indicative of an acceleration or deceleration of the vehicle. The vehicle also includes at least one proximity switch located on the steering wheel, and a controller configured to process the rotational movement of the steering wheel and the sensed signal and control an interaction mode of the at least one input switch, wherein the controller changes the interaction mode of the at least one input switch based on the sensed steering wheel movement and the sensed signal.
VEHICLE FOR DISABLING AUTONOMOUS DRIVING AND AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME
A vehicle is capable of disabling autonomous driving by identifying whether an intervention of a user has occurred during autonomous driving. The vehicle includes a steering wheel, a first sensor device configured to detect a steering torque of the steering wheel, a steering angle of the steering wheel, and a steering angular velocity of the steering wheel, and a second sensor device configured to detect a touch of a user applied to the steering wheel. When the vehicle travels in an emergency control state in which a deceleration/acceleration speed of the vehicle is greater than a predetermined first value during autonomous driving, if the touch of the user on the steering wheel is detected through the second sensor device, the emergency control state is disabled under certain conditions, and if the steering torque is greater than or equal to a predetermined torque value, autonomous driving is disabled.
