Electric power assisted steering (EPAS) systems for solid axle front suspension vehicles are described. An example EPAS system includes an idler arm having a first end and a second end. The first end of the idler arm is coupled to a frame of the vehicle. The example EPAS system further includes an EPAS rack assembly having an input shaft, a rack, an electric motor, and an output link. The rack is coupled to the input shaft and is movable in response to movement of the input shaft. The electric motor is coupled to the rack. The electric motor provides powered assistance to movement of the rack. The output link has a first end and a second end. The first end of the output link is coupled to the rack. The second end of the output link is coupled to the second end of the idler arm.
Steering Transmission for Electromechanical Steering System for a Vehicle and Electromechanical Steering System for a Vehicle
A steering gear for an electromechanical steering system for a vehicle includes an input shaft that can be coupled or connected to a steering column of the steering system, a segment shaft that can be coupled or connected to a steering column lever of the steering system, an angular gear, a servo gear, and an electric motor for driving the servo gear. The angular gear is designed as a bevel gear. The input shaft and the electric motor are connected to the servo gear. The servo gear is connected to the angular gear. The angular gear is connected to the segment shaft. The angular gear is formed to transmit torque from the servo gear to the segment shaft via two transmission paths.
Steering apparatus for vehicle
A steering apparatus for a vehicle according to the present disclosure includes: a controller configured to transmit steering control signals on the basis of a first input signal from a torque sensor configured to sense torque of a steering shaft and a second input signal from any one of a location sensor, a camera sensor, a distance sensor, a vehicle speed sensor, and a vehicle height sensor; a first steering power assist configured to generate steering force by rotating the steering shaft or supplement steering force of the steering shaft rotating forward or backward, using electric power in response to the steering control signal from the controller; and a second steering power assist configured to switch channels for working fluid, depending on forward or backward rotation of the steering shaft, and steer wheels by operating a tie rod or a knuckle using hydraulic pressure of the working fluid.
Steering wheel with fixed eccentric center hub
A steering system for an automotive vehicle is disclosed. The steering system includes a steering column assembly, a steering wheel assembly secured to the steering column assembly, the steering wheel assembly comprising a steering wheel frame, a steering wheel rim, and a hub, and an emulator enclosed within a housing, the emulator secured to the steering column assembly. The steering wheel frame and the hub are stationary and the steering wheel rim rotates relative to the steering wheel frame and the hub.
Drive device and electric power steering device including the drive device
A drive device that includes a rotating electric machine having a stator with a winding wound on the stator, a rotor rotatably disposed relative to the stator, and a shaft rotating together with the rotor. The drive device also includes a frame member fixed on the rotating electric machine. The drive device further includes a circuit board fixed on the frame member, with a first surface of the circuit board on a frame member side serving as a heat generation element mount surface. The drive device also has a drive element located on the first surface of the circuit board in a heat dissipatable manner, and serving as a component of an inverter that switches on and off to supply an electric current to the winding.
ELECTROMECHANICAL ACTUATOR PACKAGE WITH BELT DRIVE MECHANISM FOR STEER-BY-WIRE HAND WHEEL ACTUATOR
An electromechanical actuator package for supplying toque to a handwheel, may comprise: a motor comprising a motor rotor shaft; a belt drive mechanism connecting the motor rotor shaft to an actuator output via a drive belt, the actuator output directly or indirectly connected to the handwheel; a circuit board; and a housing enclosing the motor, the belt drive mechanism and the circuit board, wherein the circuit board is positioned between one end of the motor rotor shaft and an inner surface of the housing. The actuator output may protrude from the driven pulley in a direction away from the circuit board and pass through an opening formed in the lower surface of the housing. Alternatively, the actuator output may protrude from the driven pulley toward the circuit board and pass through openings formed in the circuit board and the upper surface of housing,
Sensor device
A sensor device includes sensors and an Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The sensors include sensor elements, a signal comparator, and a signal transmitter. The signal comparator compares a first main detection value from one of the sensor elements, and a first sub detection value from the other of the sensor elements. When the first main detection value matches the first sub detection value, the signal transmitter generates and transmits an output signal that includes a first main signal corresponding to the first main detection value without including a first sub signal corresponding to the first sub detection value. In such manner, the responsiveness of the sensor device may be improved, without deteriorating a reliability of the output signals from the sensor sections.
TORQUE OVERLAY STEERING APPARATUS
A steering apparatus for assisting rotation of a steering shaft in a steering system. The apparatus includes a motor having a drive shaft that rotates about a drive shaft axis and an output shaft that rotates about an output shaft axis. The output shaft axis extends parallel to the drive shaft axis. The output shaft is connected for rotation with the steering shaft. A gear train drivingly connects the motor to the output shaft. The gear train includes a worm screw and a worm wheel.
Steering control device
A steering control device performs an assist control for generating an assist command that generates an assist torque based on a steering torque. The steering control device acquires a target value of physical quantity related to a steering. The steering control device performs a tracking control for generating a tracking command that generates an automatic steering torque for causing a detection value of physical quantity to track the target value.
