MODULAR POWER STEERING APPARATUS
A modular power steering apparatus includes a rotatable shaft, which is selectively rotatable to effect turning movement of at least one vehicle wheel. A housing supports the rotatable shaft for rotation relative thereto, about a shaft axis. A first rotational input assembly is provided for transmitting a steering command from a steering member to the rotatable shaft. A second rotational input assembly is operatively connected with the rotatable shaft. The second rotational input assembly is configured to apply a rotational force to the rotatable shaft. The apparatus includes a plurality of drive stations. Each drive station is configured to selectively accept both of the first and second rotational input assemblies for operating connection to the rotatable shaft at different times.

A drive axle (1) and a motor vehicle having the drive axle (1) are proposed. The drive axle (1) includes an axle body (2) in which at least one axle shaft (3) extends. The drive axle (1) has at least one wheel carrier (5), which is arranged on a wheel-side end (4) of the axle body (2), and at least one steering assembly (6). The drive axle (1) is preferably in the form of a rigid axle and the axle body (2) has a receiving structure (7) for accommodating a drive unit (8), and the steering assembly (6) is directly connected to the axle body (2).
STEERING GEAR FOR A STEER-BY-WIRE STEERING SYSTEM
A steering gear for a steer-by-wire steering system of a motor vehicle may include an electric motor having a motor shaft. The motor shaft drives a spindle of a worm gear, and the worm gear comprises a spindle nut in such a manner that a rotational movement originating from the motor shaft is converted into a linear movement of the spindle nut along an axis. The spindle nut, for purposes of steering wheels of the motor vehicle, is connected to at least one tie rod. The worm gear may be a ball screw drive, a trapezoidal drive, or a roller screw drive.
