A Steering System and a Method of Controlling a Steering System
An electro-hydraulic steering system comprises a hydraulic steering actuator and a hydro-mechanical steering unit for actuating the hydraulic steering actuator in response to a steering demand from a steering wheel connected to the hydro-mechanical steering unit by a steering shaft. An electric motor is operative to apply a torque to the steering shaft and is controlled to provide a haptic steering torque feedback to a user through the steering wheel. The motor is controlled to provide a haptic steering torque feedback that follows a predetermined profile compensating for the effects of a spring in the hydro-mechanical steering unit which opposes movement of the steering member. The motor may be controlled to provide haptic steering torque feedback during a dead band range of movement of the steering member before the hydro-mechanical steering unit begins supplying fluid to the steering actuator.
WORK VEHICLES WITH CONSTANT CURVATURE CONTROL DURING STEERING MODE TRANSITIONS
A steering control system for a work vehicle can include an operator control providing a steering input indicating a curvature heading of the vehicle, a hydraulic steering system responsive to the steering input from the operator control to effect the curvature heading, and a control system configured to detect, based on the steering input from the operator control, a change in a center of rotation of the vehicle, determine, based on the steering input from the operating control, a velocity of the change in the center of rotation of the vehicle, determine, based on the velocity of the change in the center of rotation, a transition steering input to effect a constant curvature heading during a transition period, and command, based on the transition steering input, the cylinder control valve to alter hydraulic flow or pressure to the hydraulic cylinders to steer the work vehicle at the constant curvature heading.
Control device for a hydraulic steering device
Disclosed is a control device for a hydraulic steering device, having a control input device and an electrically operable valve for actuating a steering actuator of the steering device, which valve can be electrically actuated as a function of steering setpoint values detected at the control input device via at least one first control path between the control input device and the valve, wherein the control device is set up in such a way that the relevant first control paths can be deactivated as a function of steering setpoint values detected at the control input device via respective second control paths, which are assigned to this relevant first control path and differ at least partially from the respective first control paths when this first control path is active, or can be activated when this first control path is deactivated.
Steering System
A steering system for a commercial vehicle has at least one road-wheel actuator for exerting a steering impulse on at least one road wheel of the vehicle. The at least one road-wheel actuator is configured as an assembly having at least one first module including a hydraulic actuator, at least one second module including a hydraulic pump and a valve block and at least one third module including an electromotor and an electronic control unit. The road-wheel actuator has an additional first module, second module and/or third module.
