Shaft Arrangement and Steering Gear having a Shaft Arrangement
A shaft arrangement for a steering gear has an input shaft, an output shaft and a torsion rod. The torsion rod is connected in a rotationally secure manner to the input shaft in an input-side connection region of the shaft arrangement. The torsion rod is connected in a rotationally secure manner to the output shaft in an output-side connection region of the shaft arrangement. The input-side connection region is spaced apart from the output-side connection region. The shaft arrangement has a rotation prevention member, wherein the rotation prevention member limits a rotation of the input shaft relative to the output shaft to a maximum rotation angle and, when the maximum rotation angle is reached, can transmit a torque from the input shaft to the output shaft.
Steering system with magnetic torque overlay lash compensation
Technical solutions for compensating for lash in a steering system are described. An example method includes determining a rack pressure value based on a driver torque value and a differential pressure across a rack of the steering system. The method also includes determining a compensation friction value based on a position of a handwheel of the steering system and a speed of a vehicle equipped with the steering system. The method also includes computing a pressure value based on the rack pressure value and the compensation friction value. The method also includes generating a torque command using the pressure value, the torque command being added to the driver assist torque for the steering system.

STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WITH MULTIPLE INPUT SHAFTS, REMANUFACTURING KIT, AND REMANUFACTURING METHODS
A steering gear assembly, which utilizes a manually-drive first rotatable input shaft coupled with a rotatable valve member to control flow of hydraulic fluid to different downstream passages, includes a torsion tube and a transfer shaft extending within the interior of the torsion tube, with the transfer shaft being configured to receive rotational force from a second rotatable input shaft coupled to a motor or another mechanical torque-supplying element. The torsion tube applies a rotational restoring force to the rotatable valve member. A removable end cover for a steering gear assembly housing includes a rotary seal permitting rotation of the transfer shaft and/or second rotatable input shaft, with the first and second rotatable input shafts opposing one another. A remanufacturing kit for a steering gear assembly includes a torsion tube, a transfer shaft, and an end cover as mentioned. A method for remanufacturing a steering gear assembly is further provided.

Power Steering Assembly With Targeted Compensation of Roadside Shock Pulses to the Steering Gear
A power steering assembly for an electro-mechanical power steering system of motor vehicles, in particular utility vehicles, includes a steering gear. The steering gear is designed to transmit a rotational movement introduced by a steering element, in particular by a steering wheel, via an input side of the steering gear, in particular via an input shaft of the steering gear, to an output side of the steering gear. The power steering assembly is designed to convert a movement derived from the output side of the steering gear into a rotational movement of at least one wheel of the motor vehicle about a steering axis. The power steering assembly is characterized in that the power steering assembly has an absorption unit for at least partial absorption of roadside shocks from the wheel of the motor vehicle.

End of Travel Relief System for Power Steering System
In a power steering system employing an end of travel system including valve actuating rings disposed about a Pitman arm shaft, a device is provided for setting the positions of the rings on the shaft. The device includes a fixed member positioned about, and fixed against movement along, a longitudinal axis perpendicular to the shaft's rotational axis and a movable member that moves along the longitudinal axis relative to the fixed member. The movable member defines a pin at one end configured for engagement with the circumferential ends of the actuating rings. A positioning force applied to one of the members causes the movable member to move between set and reset positions in which the pin engages corresponding ends of the actuating rings during rotation of the shaft and a running position in which the pin remains disengaged from the ends of the actuating ring during rotation of the shaft.
