In a force applied when the biasing member biases the driven gears, assuming that a direction orthogonal to a tangent line at a point of action of the force is set as a first direction, the first direction is different from a second direction.

The present disclosure relates to a steering assistance system, a steering control device, and a steering control method. Specifically, the steering control device according to the present invention calculates a target rack stroke on the basis of steering information input by a driver and calculates a target instruction current according to the target rack stroke, wherein different instruction currents are calculated depending on whether other steering control devices fail, and are applied to a steering motor according to predetermined application patterns.
STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
A steering column assembly is disclosed that comprises: an elongate rotatable steering column, a displacement motor, a torque feedback motor; an engagement mechanism and a control. The steering column is configured at one end for attachment of a steering member and is displaceable along its longitudinal axis between a withdrawn, stowed position in which the steering function of the steering column is inhibited and an extended, deployed position in which the steering function of the steering column can be enabled. The displacement motor displaces the steering column between the stowed and deployed positions. The torque feedback motor is connected to the steering column and by which the steering column is rotatable. The engagement mechanism is engaged when the steering column is in the stowed position and limits the angular displacement of the steering column to a predetermined value. A control is configured to control the operation of the displacement motor and torque feedback motor and to inhibit and enable the steering function of the steering column.

A turning control device includes: a target steering angle calculation unit configured to calculate a target steering angle of a turning mechanism, based on a second steering angle of a steering mechanism; a steering angular displacement calculation unit configured to, when a third steering angle, the third steering angle being either a first steering angle of the turning mechanism or the second steering angle, is in a range from a maximum steering angle that the third steering angle can take to a first threshold steering angle, calculate a steering angular displacement of the third steering angle with the first threshold steering angle used as a reference; a steering angle correction value calculation unit configured to calculate a steering angle correction value according to at least the steering angular displacement; and a corrected target steering angle calculation unit configured to correct the target steering angle with the steering angle correction value.

Steering assist device
A steering assist device for a motor vehicle is described, which encloses a steering-wheel-side steering shaft and a wheel-side steering shaft coupled to the latter, whereby a gear wheel coupled to a backup drive is installed on the wheel-side steering shaft. Moreover, a sensor element is integrated into the gear wheel and interacts with a second sensor counter element fixed in space over a first sensor counter element installed at the steering-wheel-side steering shaft.
