Crop row sensing on vehicle with multiple, independently steerable axles/wheels
An agricultural machine has a set of front wheels and a set of rear wheels that are independently steerable relative to one another. Distance sensors are mounted to the agricultural vehicle to sense a distance between the front wheels, and the adjacent row crops, and between the rear wheels, and the adjacent row crops. Automatic steering control signals are generated to automatically steer the front wheels, and rear wheels, based upon the sensed distances.
DETERMINING A STEERING REFERENCE STATE BY MEANS OF WHEEL SPEED VALUES
A control unit and a method for determining a steering reference state for a vehicle. A first wheel speed value that is a wheel speed value for a wheel on the vehicle is obtained. At least one second wheel speed value that is a wheel speed value for another wheel on the vehicle is obtained. Using the first and second wheel speed value, a steering reference state is determined, corresponding to travel in a straight line by the vehicle.
METHOD FOR DETERMINING ACTUAL STATE VALUES
A method for determining state values of a wheel (R) of a wheel drive module that includes the wheel (R), a speed modulation gearbox (G), a first electric motor (M1) and a second electric motor (M2), as well as at least one first sensor (S1) for sensing state values of the first electric motor (M1), at least one second sensor (S2) for sensing state values of the second electric motor (M2), wherein additional state value sources of the electric motors (M1, M2) and/or the wheel (R) are provided and the sensed state values are compared with each other in order to compensate for and to recognize errors in the sensing of the state values so that actual state values of the wheel (R) are determined from the individual sensed state values.
SOLAR VEHICLE NAVIGATION
Navigation of a solar vehicle is provided by obtaining a target geographic destination for the vehicle having one or more photovoltaic solar arrays; obtaining configuration data defining a target solar vector relative to a reference frame of the vehicle; identifying a current geographic positioning of the vehicle via a geo-positioning system of the vehicle, including a current geographic location and a current geographic orientation of the vehicle; identifying a current solar vector relative to the reference frame of the vehicle; and during at least a portion of a solar day, outputting a steering command for the vehicle for an indirect path from the current geographic location toward the target geographic destination that is based, at least in part, on a comparison of the current solar vector to the target solar vector. The steering command can be presented to a human operator or programmatically implemented by an autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle.
VEHICLE TRAVELING SUPPORT APPARATUS
A driving support ECU is configured to, when s specific recognition state occurs where a lane marker recognized changes from a left lane marker to a right lane marker or vice versa under a one side lane marker recognizable state, set a steering angle guard value to a second steering angle guard value smaller than a first steering angle guard value and set a steering angle speed guard value to a second steering angle speed guard value smaller than a first steering angle speed guard value.
SYSTEMS WITH RADIO FREQUENCY RESONATORS, TUNING ELEMENTS, AND SPECTRUM ANALYZERS TO PROVIDE VALUES OF RESONANCE PARAMETERS
A system comprises: a radio frequency (RF) resonator comprising a cavity and a tuning element, the cavity having at least one port, and the tuning element having a length inside the cavity; a processor; a spectrum analyzer coupled to the at least one port, the spectrum analyzer to provide to the processor values of a resonance parameter, the resonance parameter indicative of a resonant wavelength of the RF resonator; and an automotive steering mechanism coupled to the tuning element.
Operating motor vehicle electrically assisted steering
A motor vehicle has an electrically assisted steering system. A steering angle velocity of the motor vehicle, and a driver manual torque change applied by a driver of the motor vehicle are determined. At least the steering angle velocity and the driver manual torque change are analyzed to determine whether the driver manual torque change and the steering angle velocity are not correlated. An error signal is output if the driver manual torque change and the steering angle velocity are not correlated.
Apparatus and method for controlling steering of vehicle
The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling steering of a vehicle and, more particularly, for steering independently each of the vehicle wheels by using respective steering controller based on the target steering angle information for each vehicle wheel, determining the normal steering controller among a plurality of the steering controllers, re-determining the target steering angle information of the vehicle wheel connected to the normal steering controller by using a driving information of the vehicle, and steering the vehicle wheels based on the re-determined target steering angle information.
STEERING OPERATION APPARATUS
A steering operation apparatus is configured to turn one of a plurality of tire-wheel assemblies of a vehicle independently of the other tire-wheel assemblies. The steering operation apparatus includes: an electric motor serving as a drive source; an action conversion mechanism configured to convert an action of the electric motor into a turning action of the tire-wheel assembly; and a controller configured to control a supply current to the electric motor to turn the tire-wheel assembly based on an action position of the electric motor.
