METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A MOTOR VEHICLE
A method automatically controls an actuator of a control system of an automotive device. The method includes determining a reference trajectory, determining a position of the device with respect to the reference trajectory, acquiring a parameter relating to a force exerted by a driver on a manual control device of the control system, and calculating a controlling setpoint of the actuator. The controlling setpoint is calculated as a function of the parameter and of the position of the device with respect to the reference trajectory.
Image-based velocity control for a turning vehicle
An autonomous vehicle control system is provided. The control system may include a plurality of cameras to acquire a plurality of images of an area in a vicinity of a vehicle; and at least one processing device configured to: recognize a curve to be navigated based on map data and vehicle position information; determine an initial target velocity for the vehicle based on at least one characteristic of the curve as reflected in the map data; adjust a velocity of the vehicle to the initial target velocity; determine, based on the plurality of images, observed characteristics of the curve; determine an updated target velocity based on the observed characteristics of the curve; and adjust the velocity of the vehicle to the updated target velocity.
Four-wheel steering system
The four-wheel steering system includes a front-wheel steering system that steers front wheels of a vehicle and a rear-wheel steering system that steers rear wheels of the vehicle in accordance with a steering angle that is a rotation angle of a steering wheel. The rear-wheel steering system includes a second ECU that, when the vehicle speed is equal to or lower than a vehicle speed threshold, performs antiphase control in which the rear wheels are steered in the opposite direction to that in which the front wheels are steered. When the vehicle speed is equal to or lower than the vehicle speed threshold, the second ECU performs in-phase control in which the rear wheels are steered in the same direction as that in which the front wheels are steered, in response to a specific trigger operation that is performed via the steering wheel.
Method for preparing and/or performing a steering intervention that assists the driver of a vehicle
A method for preparing and/or performing a steering intervention. The method includes detecting a traffic-influencing object and continuously recording object information, determining whether the object is tangential to a current trajectory of the vehicle, monitoring a lateral distance to the object or a predicted time available until a countersteering intervention is necessary before the object is reached. The method additionally includes checking whether the driver performs a countersteering intervention, for the case that the lateral distance or the available time falls below a first threshold value, of pilot controlling at least one actuator that influences the trajectory, so that a steering pretorque is applied if no steering intervention is performed by the driver, and triggering the steering actuator, so that a steering torque is applied to the steering, if the lateral distance or the available time additionally falls below a second threshold value.
Vehicle control apparatus
A vehicle control apparatus is configured to perform a steering assistance control of steering a vehicle to move away from an obstacle to avoid when the obstacle is in a steering assistance range. The vehicle control apparatus is provided with: a determinator configured to determine a steering assistance amount associated with the steering assistance control for the obstacle, on the basis of a distance between two of a plurality of obstacles in a direction of travel of the vehicle, when the plurality of obstacles are in the steering assistance range: and a controller programmed to control the vehicle to perform the steering assistance control by using the steering assistance amount determined by the determinator.
Apparatus for assistance avoidance steering, system having the same and method thereof
An apparatus for assistance avoidance steering is provided. The apparatus includes a processor configured to perform avoidance steering control based on Rear Wheel Steering (RWS) control when a head-on collision risk is sensed, and a storage configured to store data and an algorithm runnable by the processor. The avoidance steering control is based on the algorithm.
OBJECT TRACKING USING LIDAR DATA FOR AUTONOMOUS MACHINE APPLICATIONS
In various examples, an obstacle detector is capable of tracking a velocity state of detected objects or obstacles using LiDAR data. For example, using LiDAR data alone, an iterative closest point (ICP) algorithm may be used to determine a current state of detected objects for a current frame and a Kalman filter may be used to maintain a tracked state of the one or more objects detected over time. The obstacle detector may be configured to estimate velocity for one or more detected objects, compare the estimated velocity to one or more previous tracked states for previously detected objects, determine that the detected objects corresponds to a certain previously detected object, and update the tracked state for the previously detected object with the estimated velocity.
Method and apparatus for controlling vehicle
A method and apparatus for controlling a vehicle are provided. A lane in which a target vehicle is driving, and an object in a vicinity of the lane are detected from an image of surroundings of the target vehicle, a degree of danger of the object is evaluated, driving information of the target vehicle is determined based on the degree of danger, and the target vehicle is controlled based on the driving information.
Lidar based detection of road surface features
An AV is described herein. The AV includes a lidar sensor system. The AV additionally includes a computing system that executes a road surface analysis component to determine, based upon lidar sensor data, whether a road surface feature is present on or in a roadway in a travel path of the AV. The AV can be configured to initiate a mitigation maneuver responsive to determining that the road surface feature is present. Performing the mitigation maneuver causes the AV to avoid the road surface feature or decelerate prior to reaching the road surface feature, thereby improving the apparent quality or comfort of the ride to a passenger of the AV.
Side collision risk estimation system for a vehicle
