Foldable mud flaps

A fully foldable mud flap has an upper flap section having a magnet permanently attached and a lower flap section having a magnet of the opposite polarity attached. The flap sections are connected by a hinge which allows rotation of the lower flap section in relation to the upper flap section, such that, in the retracted position, the lower flap section is parallel to and directly faces the upper flap section, with the magnets securing the flap sections in this position. The mud flap can be conveniently manually folded and unfolded, when desired.

At least one of the brackets includes: main body including support portion supporting fender panel; front leg portion extending downward from front end of inner portion of main body in vehicle width direction, front leg portion being attached to apron reinforcement member; and rear leg portion which extends downward from rear end of the main body, rear leg portion being attached to apron reinforcement member. Front leg portion has inner slotted hole having long axis extending in vehicle width direction, and outer slotted hole which is formed outside inner slotted hole in vehicle width direction, outer slotted hole having long axis longer than long axis of inner slotted hole.

AERODYNAMIC MUD FLAP FOR MOTOR VEHICLE

A mud flap for a wheeled vehicle includes an upper mounting portion and an extended protection portion. The extended protection portion includes at least two areas with slotted air flow openings. An upper slot area includes rows of elongated slots with the slots arranged in columns in each row. A lower slot area includes rows of elongated slots with the slots arranged in columns in each row. The slots in the upper slot area have heights that are greater than the heights of slots in the lower slot area. In some embodiments, a middle slot area is positioned between the upper slot area and the lower slot area. The slots in the middle slot area have different heights in different rows. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the slots in the upper slot area is replaced with diagonal mounting features.

A mud flap assembly has a bracket hanger and a mud flap. The bracket hanger has a body extending from a first end and a second end. The first end of the bracket hanger has a shape complementary to a bore of a receiver's maintube that extends along a width of the vehicle. The mud flap is connected to and extends downward from the bracket hanger. A coupler has a first end and a coupler bore opposite the first end. The first end of the coupler is complementary to an end of a maintube of a second vehicle. The coupler bore is complementary to the first end of the bracket hanger.

In some embodiments, the protective plate may be mounted directly to the axel, and the fender may further be mounted to the protective plate, whereby the plate may serve as the mounting apparatus.

A fender for a lawn mower having tire and wheel assemblies that are mounted to a yoke of a swivel caster assembly, whereby the yoke pivots through 360 degrees of rotation, includes an arcuate fender body. The fender body is attached to the yoke by a bracket so that it is rotatably carried by the rotating yoke. As such, the fender body is maintained at an optimal position relative to the mower tire and thereby provides desirable deflection of lawn clippings and other debris from the various operational components provided upon the mower deck. This prevents the premature wear of such operational components, thereby decreasing down time and reducing maintenance costs of the mower.

Advantageously, a toollessly-operated mud flap clamp assembly is provided. The mud flap clamp assembly includes a plurality of mud flap clamp units installed on the vehicle body. Each of the plurality of mud flap clamp units includes a flap clamp bracket, a flap pressure plate, and a flap clamp. Each flap clamp bracket selectively engages a first side of the mud flap, and each flap pressure plate selectively engages a second side of the mud flap. Each flap clamp is operable to a first position such that a clamping force is applied to each respective flap pressure plate and such that the mud flap is frictionally engaged with and retained by each respective flap clamp bracket and each respective flap pressure bracket.

A portion of the first retaining wall is closer to a front of the vehicle than the through hole in a front-rear direction of the vehicle.
