Vehicle tailgate systems are provided. Exemplary vehicle tailgate systems may include a tailgate wall having one or more cavities and one or more securement mechanisms. The cavities may be used to install a set of one or more interchangeable pods. Each pod may have a common interface that is configured to demountably install into the one or more cavities using the one or more securement mechanisms.

A shielding method includes securing a privacy panel assembly to an upper liftgate of a split liftgate assembly of a vehicle, and securing the privacy panel assembly to a lower liftgate of the split liftgate assembly.

A shielding method includes securing a privacy panel assembly to an upper liftgate of a split liftgate assembly of a vehicle, and securing the privacy panel assembly to a lower liftgate of the split liftgate assembly.
Lock unit for tailgate synchronizer
A latch system for a vehicle includes a synchronizer and a lock unit. The synchronizer is configured to block and allow release of a number of latches of the vehicle such that some latches are blocked from being released if other latches are already released. The lock unit is configured to block selectively the release of the number of latches.
Tailgate deactivation system
A tailgate deactivation system. A switch includes two terminals configured to be electrically coupled to a tailgate power circuit that supplies power to at least a portion of a tailgate of a vehicle, and an actuator configured to electrically couple the two terminals in an on state to allow power to flow in the tailgate power circuit, and to electrically decouple the two terminals in an off state to inhibit power from flowing in the tailgate power circuit.
