Method and arrangement for transferring a heavy work machine on a sloping base
A method for slowing transfer of a heavy work machine on a sloping base using a separate transportation device equipped with wheels, the work machine including a set of booms having at least one operating cylinder, an auxiliary device, and a brake including a brake surface, the method including the steps of towing the work machine using a transfer vehicle and the transportation device, supporting the work machine at least partly on top of the transportation device such that the crawler chassis is raised off the sloping base, and supporting the auxiliary device on the brake, the brake surface of the brake contacting the sloping base, using the operating cylinder to press the brake surface against the sloping base to create friction to slow transfer speed of the transportation device, and adjusting pressing of the brake surface taking place through the auxiliary device using the operating cylinder.
UPPER COUPLER ASSEMBLY FOR TRAILERS
An upper coupler for a semi-trailer has a generally planar bottom plate. A kingpin attaches thereto to couple with a fifth wheel of a tractor. A reinforcement member extends across a width of the bottom plate to reduce bending of the bottom plate as it rests on the fifth wheel of the tractor. Along the reinforcement member's length, the reinforcement member has varying second moments of area taken in cross sections perpendicular to the reinforcement member's length.
Self-contained, mobile rack repair method and trailer
A novel method of repairing and modifying a heavy-duty industrial rack includes: a) providing an enclosed trailer having: 1) a forklift compartment; 2) a ramp for the loading and unloading a forklift and its payload to and from the trailer; 3) a forklift for moving a rack to and from the trailer; 4) a rack repair compartment; 5) rack repair raw materials; 6) at least one rack component bonding apparatus for bonding components of the rack; 7) at least one rack component bending apparatus; 8) at least one rack machining apparatus; and 9) a hitch for coupling the trailer to a truck for moving the trailer to a new location when desired; and b) moving the trailer to an onsite location having a rack targeted for repair or modification. The method also at least includes: c) unloading the forklift from the trailer via the ramp; d) driving to the forklift to the targeted rack; e) lifting the targeted rack and transporting it to the trailer; f) loading the targeted rack onto the trailer via the ramp; g) locating the targeted industrial rack in the rack repair compartment; h) performing repairs or modifications on the rack; i) after pairs or modifications, lifting and removing the rack from the trailer via the forklift and the ramp; j) driving the repaired or modified rack to an onsite location; and k) unloading the repaired or modified rack from the forklift. A novel trailer apparatus is separately disclosed.
Load support deck for cargo carrying vehicle
A cargo carrying vehicle (10) includes a load support deck (44). The deck is comprised of a plurality of laterally adjacent deck pieces (46). Each deck piece includes in transverse cross section a plurality of elongated cavities (56). A respective support member (100) is selectively longitudinally positionable in a respective cavity adjacent to a load area to provide additional strength and crush resistance.
Agricultural equipment transportation method and apparatus
A trailer for transporting agricultural equipment over the road. The trailer includes a frame that supports a wheel travel path that is traversed by the tires of agricultural equipment hauled by the trailer roll as the equipment is loaded on and unloaded off the trailer. The wheel travel path includes a) an inclined rear section located at or near the back of the trailer, b) an over-wheel section located generally in front of the inclined rear section and positioned generally over one or more trailer wheels, c) a dropped landing section located generally in front of the over-wheel section, and d) an elevated landing section located generally in front of the dropped landing section. The over-wheel section is elevated relative to the dropped landing section and the elevated landing section is elevated relative to said over-wheel section.
Mobile well servicing units and related methods
A mobile well service unit has: a structural frame such as a chassis with ground engaging members; and a telescoping platform assembly mounted at a rear end of the structural frame, the telescoping platform assembly having a lower platform mounted to slide up and down relative to the structural frame, and an upper platform mounted to the lower platform to slide up and down relative to the lower platform. A mobile well service unit has: a structural frame with ground engaging members; a platform mounted at a rear end of the structural frame to slide up and down relative to the structural frame; and a set of telescoping and self-levelling stairs with an upper end pivotally anchored to the platform, and a lower end pivotally anchored to the structural frame.
Gooseneck hitch locking apparatus and system
A gooseneck hitch locking apparatus and system that is safe and reliable, can standup to a large range of weather conditions, and can be activated remotely thereby allowing for the coupling/uncoupling of a trailer to a towing vehicle without requiring a user to climb into/out of the bed of the towing vehicle. A remotely controlled actuator raises and lowers a locking pin through a locking hole of a gooseneck hitch with a force loaded ball hitch locking plate, thereby preventing the locking plate from moving and keeping the coupled ball hitch from uncoupling. A handle connected to the locking pin is connected to the actuator via a fastener. The fastener may be removed, thereby allowing manual operation of the gooseneck hitch locking apparatus and system via the handle, thus allowing the manual coupling or uncoupling of a the trailer from a towing vehicle.
