Wear pads for slider suspension
A wear pad for a guide rail of a trailer with a slider suspension assembly, including at least one leg configured to be positioned between the guide rail and a frame member of the slider suspension assembly. The wear pad permits the passage of lock pins through the wear pad. A wear pad includes two legs that provide the wear pad with an L-shaped profile. One of the legs of a wear pad includes different portions with different thickness.
MODULAR SYSTEM FOR DYNAMIC TOW AND REGENERATIVE BRAKING OF A TRAILER
One variation of a system includes a bogie including: a chassis; a first set of latches configured to transiently engage a first subset of engagement features, in a first array of engagement features on a left rail and in a second array of engagement features on a right rail of the trailer, to retain the bogie below a floor of the trailer; a driven axle suspended from the chassis; and a motor coupled to the driven axle and configured to output torque to the driven axle and regeneratively brake the driven axle. The system further includes a battery assembly: including a second set of latches configured to transiently engage a second subset of engagement features, in the first array of engagement features and in the second array of engagement features, to retain the battery assembly adjacent the bogie; and configured to receive electrical energy from the motor.
AERODYNAMIC RECAPTURE METHOD AND APPARATUS
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and apparatus for reducing drag. An exemplary apparatus includes a semitrailer having a main frame extending along a longitudinal axis and a subframe movably connected to the main frame between a first position along the longitudinal axis and a second position along the longitudinal axis. The apparatus further includes an axle assembly attached to the subframe, the axle assembly including an axle, a left wheel set, a right wheel set, and a suspension, and a first recapture device located under the main frame behind and separated from the left wheel set along the longitudinal axis by a given spacing. The apparatus still further includes a second recapture device located under the main frame behind and separated from the right wheel set along the longitudinal axis by a second spacing.
LOAD DIVIDER DOLLY WITH ACTIVE PITCH ANGLE ADJUSTMENT FOR ON-THE-FLY LOAD DISTRIBUTION
A load divider dolly has: a chassis; ground engaging wheels; a tow vehicle mount pivotally mounted to the chassis; a variable volume element mounted to adjust a pitch angle between the chassis and the tow vehicle mount; and a pressure control system configured to, during use, supply and exhaust fluid such as gas to and from the variable volume element to distribute load between a tow vehicle and the ground engaging wheels of the load divider dolly.
Composite refrigerated semi-trailer and method of making the same
A refrigerated composite semi-trailer is disclosed that may improve thermal efficiency, fuel efficiency, and costs of manufacturing.
Method and apparatus for adjusting trailer king pin location
An adjustable trailer hitch and king pin assembly that may be moved longitudinally to adjust the position and weight distribution of a trailer relative to a truck. The disclosed assembly may allow a trailer to be utilized with various different sized and configured trucks while maximizing the cargo carrying capability and efficiency thereof. In one example, an adjustable trailer hitch is provided having a slidable king pin assembly that may be adjusted forwards or backwards to move the king pin to the desired location relative to the truck and trailer. In another example, a removable king pin may be provided that may be removed and moved to a different location according to the weight and desired weight distribution of a truck and trailer combination.
Slider wear pad
A slider suspension system for a heavy-duty vehicle includes a slider assembly with a main member that is movable relative to a primary frame of the heavy-duty vehicle in a first direction along the extent of the main member. The main member has a first portion and a second portion extending transverse to the first portion. A friction reducing slider wear pad is fixed to the main member and interposed between the main member and the primary frame. The friction reducing slider wear pad has a first segment fixed to the first portion of the main member. The friction reducing slider wear pad also has a second segment engaging at least a part of the second portion of the main member to inhibit movement of the friction reducing pad relative to the main member in a second direction transverse to the first direction.

TRAILER UNDERBODY FAIRING SYSTEM
The present disclosure pertains to fairings for use on a trailer having a movable bogie. In one implementation, panels of the fairing extend at least to a rear termination point of the movable bogie and include a slim hinge to prevent interference with a pair of wheels coupled to the bogie. Accordingly, implementations of the present disclosure include a fairing that allows for translation of the movable bogie, while also providing panel coverage up to and beyond a pair of wheels coupled to the bogie regardless of the bogie position relative to the trailer.
AUXILIARY DOLLY
An auxiliary dolly attachable to the rear of a primary trailer includes a first portion attachable to the primary trailer, a second portion comprising one or more axles with wheels, and a pivot point at which the first portion is coupled to and movable relative to the second portion, and further includes one or more cylinders configured to adjust the first and second portions relative to each other and apportion weight between the primary trailer and the auxiliary dolly.
