Slider suspension assembly with compliant hold-down arrangement
A vehicle suspension assembly includes a vehicle frame rail, a slide rail extending longitudinally along the vehicle frame rail and slidably adjustable thereto, a support bracket extending downwardly from the slide rail, a trailing arm pivotably coupled to the support bracket, a spring member positioned between the trailing arm and the slide rail, and an elastically resilient coupling arrangement coupling the slide rail to the vehicle frame rail, wherein the coupling member is configured to elastically deform during vertical displacement of the vehicle frame rail with respect to the slide rail.
AUTOMATIC AUXILIARY AXLE CONTROL SYSTEM
A dual trailing axle suspension system is disclosed wherein a pair of trailing axles are suspended from an auxiliary chassis with axle suspensions that provide spring action for isolating road-induced axle movement from the auxiliary chassis. And the auxiliary chassis is suspended from a chassis of a motor vehicle by an auxiliary chassis suspension adapted to deploy the auxiliary chassis from a stowed location on the motor vehicle to a deployed location at a substantial distance behind the motor vehicle chassis. And the auxiliary chassis suspension is adapted to cause the auxiliary chassis to help support the motor vehicle chassis to a variable degree by acting on the auxiliary chassis at a location between the two axles and in a manner determined by whether the spring action provided by the axle suspensions is set or variable.
Shipping container hitch and wheel attachment
The shipping container hitch and wheel attachment comprises a hitch structure, a plurality of wheel structures, and an intermodal freight container. The hitch structure removably attaches to the intermodal freight container. Each wheel structure selected from the plurality of wheel structures removably attaches to the intermodal freight container. The hitch structure and the plurality of wheel structures temporarily modify the intermodal freight container such that intermodal freight container can be directly towed by a tractor. By directly towed is meant that the intermodal freight container forms its own trailer structure and does not require the service of a separate trailer such as a flatbed trailer. The hitch structure attaches the intermodal freight container to a tractor. The plurality of wheel structures form a chassis that allows the intermodal freight container to be towed.
Fifth wheel control arrangements for articulated vehicles
A fifth wheel control arrangement (100) for an articulated vehicle comprising a fifth wheel having a biased hinge joint and an actuator (115) arranged to control a biasing force and/or a damping force of the biased hinge joint. The control arrangement comprises a control unit configured to automatically control the actuator in response to one or more input sensor signals associated with a current state of the articulated vehicle, to obtain a target wheel axle load of the articulated vehicle and/or to stabilize the articulated vehicle.
Systems and methods for rotating a modular home on a trailer
A structure includes a first space defined by a plurality of walls and a floor assembly supporting the plurality of walls. The floor assembly includes a frame comprising a plurality of floor joists, at least one upper plate coupled to a top of the frame, and a skid plate coupled to a bottom of the frame, the skid plate comprising a circular opening. The floor assembly further includes a pin socket comprising a cylindrical pipe section positioned around the circular opening, the pin socket configured to receive a rotation pin within the cylindrical pipe section and configured to cause the rotation of the structure about the rotation pin when a lateral force is applied to the structure. The structure is configured to rest on the skid plate during the rotation.
SYSTEM FOR WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION AND WHEEL ADJUSTMENT OF A TRAILER
A system for weight distribution of a trailer includes: a trailer chassis including a vehicle coupler arranged on a first end of the trailer chassis and configured to couple to a tow vehicle; a battery assembly arranged on the first end of the trailer chassis and configured to transiently install on a left rail and a right rail of the trailer over a range of longitudinal positions; a bogie including a chassis configured to transiently install on the left rail and the right rail of the trailer over the range of longitudinal positions and arranged on the second end of the trailer chassis opposite the first end, a driven axle suspended from the chassis, and a motor coupled to the driven axle; and a bogie actuator configured to longitudinally displace the bogie along the trailer chassis.
