Drag reduction fairing for a trailer converter dolly
A converter dolly is provided for use with a tractor-trailer wherein the converter dolly additionally comprises dolly fairings which are located in front of the wheels of the converter dolly. The dolly fairings are preferably made of fibreglass, and improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the converter dolly, and thus reduce fuel consumption.
Single point hitch bed system
A single point hitch bed system includes a base frame mounted on a truck bed, the base frame having a front end positioned towards the front of the truck, a rear end opposite the front end, and lateral side ends; a stationary upper deck permanently attached above the base frame; and an extendable lower deck positioned between the stationary upper deck and base frame, wherein the extendable lower deck is mounted via a rail system that allows the extendable lower deck to be extended to an adjustable length. An access hole is positioned towards the front of the stationary upper deck to allow access to a single point hitch that may be permanently secured to the truck. The single point hitch may receive removable components for securing cargo or towed apparatus to the truck. Auxiliary anchor points are positioned atop the base frame, laterally to the stationary upper deck.
Fifth wheel hitch comfort system
A fifth wheel hitch assembly for mounting to a towing vehicle and receiving a kingpin of a trailer incorporating a comfort assembly is provided. The fifth wheel hitch assembly may comprise a kingpin receiving assembly attached to a mounting rail via a comfort assembly. The comfort assembly may include one or more pivot bushing assemblies, as well as vertically adjustable, anti-rattle attachment systems. These attachment systems may include a cam assembly and/or a T-pin assembly.

FIFTH WHEEL HITCH SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
A vehicle accessory mounting assembly for mounting a vehicle accessory to a vehicle fame assembly includes first and second support members adapted to couple to the frame assembly, a support assembly that includes first and second portions respectively slidably positionable along a length of the first and second support members and selectively engaging the first and second support members to lock the first and second portions at a selected position along the length of the first and second support members, a center portion having first and second portions, wherein the first and second ends of the center portion are adapted to couple with the first and second portions subsequent to the first and second portions being positioned along the length of the first and second portions, and a vehicle accessory arrangement coupled to the support assembly.
FIFTH WHEEL HITCH ISOLATION SYSTEM
A fifth wheel hitch may include at least one support frame capable of engaging with a towing vehicle. The fifth wheel hitch may further include a cross-member attached to the support frame and an isolation system operatively coupled with the cross-member. The isolation system may include a beam engaged with the cross-member about a first axis, where rotation of the beam about the first axis is dampened via a cross-member isolator. The isolation system may also include a skid plate engaged with the beam about a second axis, where rotation of the skid plate about the second axis is dampened via a wing isolator.
Safety chain tie down mechanism for under bed hitch mounting system
A tie down apparatus that may be utilized for securing an item, such as a safety chain, wherein the tie down apparatus may be used with a hitch mounting system. In one embodiment, the tie down apparatus may include a receiving member, a tie down member, and a locking member. The receiving member may include an opening located there through. The tie down member may include at least one aperture, wherein the locking member may extend therethrough. The locking member may selectively engage the receiving member. The locking member may include a head that engages with a safety chain member positioned on the tie down apparatus to prevent disengagement between the locking member and the receiving member.

A fifth wheel hitch adjustment arrangement for adjusting a position of a fifth wheel hitch plate along a length of a vehicle frame, the fifth wheel hitch adjustment arrangement including a fifth wheel hitch plate, a support arrangement coupled to the fifth wheel hitch plate such that the fifth wheel hitch plate can be moved between a first position along a length of a vehicle frame and a second position along the length of the vehicle frame that is different than the first position, and a drive assembly adapted to couple to a vehicle frame and coupled to the support arrangement, the drive assembly including a rack-and-pinion arrangement, the rack-and-pinion arrangement including a rack member engaging at least one pinion member, the at least one pinion member engaging the rack member of the support arrangement to move the fifth wheel hitch plate between the first and second positions.

A fifth wheel mounting assembly comprises first and second support members adapted to couple to frame members and support assembly that comprises first and second portions slidably engaging the first and second support members and adjustable along a length thereof, the first and second portions including an upwardly-opening recess, first and second mounting members coupled to the first and second portions and configured to pivotably support the fifth wheel hitch plate, and a center portion having a first and second end received within the recesses of the first and second portions, wherein the recesses of the first and second portions are configured to receive the ends of the center portion subsequent to the first mounting member being coupled to the first mounting portion and the second mounting member being coupled to the second mounting portion.
FIFTH WHEEL HITCH
The present application describes apparatus for attaching or securing a fifth wheel hitch to a bed of a towing vehicle. The fifth wheel hitch may be arranged to be secured to a hitch ball, such as a gooseneck hitch ball. The fifth wheel hitch may include a chamber for accepting a hitch ball, a locking pin for securing the hitch ball in the chamber, and a handle for selectively securing and releasing the hitch ball. The locking pin may be biased towards a position for securing the hitch ball in the chamber. A damper may be included to dampen impact forces transferred from the trailer to the towing vehicle through the fifth wheel hitch. The fifth wheel hitch may include support members having wear strips that may rest on the surface of the towing vehicle bed.
