Method and control device for controlling driving operation of an articulated tracked vehicle
The present invention relates to a method (M1) performed by a control device (100) for controlling driving operation of an articulated tracked vehicle (V). Said articulated tracked vehicle (V) comprises a drive arrangement (120) for operating the vehicle. The articulated tracked vehicle (V) comprises a first vehicle unit (V1) and a second vehicle unit (V2) steerably connected to the first vehicle unit (V1) by means of a steering device (D) for mutually pivoting said vehicle units (V1, V2). The mutual pivoting comprises steering movement about a steering axis (Y). The steering device (D) comprises a steering arrangement (A1) for said steering movement. The method comprises the step of controlling (S1) the steering arrangement (A1) of the steering device (D) so as to control mutual steering movement of said vehicle units (V1, V2) for dynamic stability control. The present invention also relates to a control device for controlling driving operation of an articulated tracked vehicle. The present invention also relates to a computer program and a computer readable medium.
Tracked vehicle arrangement including main vehicle and trailer
A new tracked vehicle arrangement with a main vehicle and a trailer, where each of the main vehicle and the trailer have a track assembly on either side, and the tracks of the trailer are driven by the prime mover of the main vehicle. In the longitudinal direction of the main vehicle, only a small fraction (less than 25%) of the length of the main vehicle's cab, which is mounted above the frame, overlies the main vehicle's track assemblies, whereas the fuel tank is located between the cab and the prime mover. In a widthwise direction of the tracked vehicle, the fuel tank at least partly overlies the right and left track assemblies. This provides a counterbalance for the trailer, which has a platform attached by a first pivotable connection to the frame of the main vehicle and by a second pivotable connection to the frame of the trailer.
VEHICLE WITH TRACK SYSTEM
A vehicle with four track systems, each track system comprising a track frame supporting a drive sprocket and a plurality of idler wheels, a looped track extends about and is engaged with the drive sprocket and idler wheels. Each drive sprocket is secured to driven hub of the vehicle. An anti-rotation device extends between each track frame and the suspension of the vehicle. The anti-rotation device has an elongatable and contractable portion and a spring portion to resist such elongation and/or contraction. A releasable portion attaches to engaged components of the elongatable and contractable portion to fix them in place with respect to one another. Upon reaching a load limit due to excessive rotation of the track system or other event, the releasable portion releases the engaged components thereby preventing or minimizing damage to the vehicle and/or track system. The releasable portion may be field reset, manually or may self-reset.
HIGH MOBILITY ROBOT WITH WHEELED LIMBS AND PASSIVE SUSPENSION
A mobile platform (MP) and method for operating same. The MP comprising: a chassis which extends in a longitudinal direction from a back end to a front end and extends in lateral directions from a centerline to two opposing lateral sides (wherein the chassis comprises body parts configured to rotate); limbs coupled to chassis (wherein each limb comprises an upper limb member, a lower limb member, a first mechanical joint provided at a first point of articulation between the chassis and the upper limb member, and a second mechanical joint provided at a second point of articulation where the upper limb member meets the lower limb member); and wheels connected to the limbs. Each lower limb member has a first wheel connected to a first end and a second wheel connected to an opposing second end. The second mechanical joint may be located between the first and second wheels.
Work vehicle
A work vehicle includes a body 1; a plurality of travel wheels 2 at front and back portions of the body 1 on each of left and right sides; a plurality of holder mechanisms A held by the body 1 and holding the respective travel wheels 2 in such a manner as to be capable of moving the travel wheels 2 independently of one another relative to the body 1; and a plurality of crawler travel devices E attachable to and detachable from the respective holder mechanisms A.
The mutual pivoting comprises roll movement about a roll axis (X). The steering device (D) comprises a roll arrangement (A2) for said roll movement. The method comprises the step of controlling (S1) the roll arrangement (A2) of the steering device (D) so as to control mutual roll movement of said vehicle units (V1, V2). The present invention also relates to a control device for controlling driving operation of an articulated tracked vehicle. The present invention also relates to a computer program and a computer readable medium.
