Apparatus arranged for converting a wheeled vehicle to a tracked vehicle by attachment of a continuous track unit, the vehicle comprising a drive hub of the type which is arranged to have an attachable wheel, the continuous track unit replacing the wheel to engage ground in use for movement of the vehicle, the apparatus comprising a mounting portion releasably attachable to the vehicle's chassis, the mounting portion arranged to substantially surround the drive hub, a support arm for supporting the continuous track unit, and a drive sprocket releasably attachable to the drive hub for transferring torque from the drive hub to the continuous track unit so as to rotate the track in use with the wheel removed and the apparatus attached to the vehicle.

According to the invention, a first pendulum arm (26A) is located in front of the second pendulum (26B), each pendulum arm (26A, 26B) is fixed at its first end in a manner that allows pivoting at a first joint (27, 27) the centre beam (14) of the chassis and at its second end at a second joint (28, 28) at the track support beam (20), each spring strut (25A, 25B) is fixed at one of its ends (30, 30) in a jointed manner at the centre beam (14) of the chassis and at its second end (31, 31) is fixed in a jointed manner at a pendulum arm (26A, 26B), the pendulum arms (26A, 26B) pivot in a plane-parallel manner with the planes of rotation (A, A) of the track (11).

The elastic mechanism includes a first end fixed to the first travel unit, a second end fixed to the second travel unit, and an elastic member configured to be elastically deformed when one of the first and second travel units pivots relative to the other travel unit and a distance between the first end and the second end is shortened.
