A mid-roller for a tracked work vehicle has a shaft and a pair of hubs assembled about the shaft, each hub having a cylindrical housing with a flange portion projecting radially outward. Each mid-roller also has a pair of metallic roller wheels mounted on the pair of hubs, each roller wheel having a radial face connected to the flange portion of its respective hub and an outer cylindrical housing symmetrical with the shaft axis defining an outer peripheral surface having an elastomeric coating bonded thereon configured to engage the inner surface of the endless track belt. Each mid-roller also has a pair of non-metallic, ring-shaped reduced-friction guides. Each roller wheel has one of said reduced-friction guides mounted thereon such that the reduced-friction guide interacts with track guide blocks such that the reduced-friction guide is configured to be the point of contact between the mid-roller and the track guide blocks.

Roller shell has a first cylindrical part and a second cylindrical part. An outer diameter of the first cylindrical part is larger than an outer diameter of the second cylindrical part, and an inner diameter of the first cylindrical part is smaller than an inner diameter of the second cylindrical part. The first cylindrical part fits to a small-diameter bushing part, and the second cylindrical part fits to a large-diameter bushing part. The second cylindrical part has a slit which extends through an outer circumferential surface and an inner circumferential surface and is open at an end surface. The roller shell engages with a step part. An engaging member fits to a groove and engages with the slit. A retainer is formed to have an annular shape and is detachably attached to bushing to hold an end surface of the roller shell.

Idler wheel and crawler-type travel device

An idler wheel includes a disk shaped idler body, and a plurality of wear plate assemblies disposed to encircle a circumferential surface of the idler body. Each of the wear plate assemblies has an arc shaped wear plate disposed on the circumferential surface of the idler body, a first fixing member fixing the wear plate to the idler body, and a first fastening tool fastening the first fixing member to the idler body. Each wear plate has a crawler belt contact surface, a guide part protruding from the crawler belt contact surface to guide a crawler belt on the crawler belt contact surface, a first abutting surface abutting the idler body and being perpendicular to an axial direction, and a second abutting surface abutting the idler body and being perpendicular to the axial direction. The first abutting surface faces the second abutting surface in the axial direction.

Determining idler wear based on position of idler assembly

In some implementations, a controller may receive, from a sensor system of the machine, sensor data indicating a movement of an idler block of an idler assembly of an undercarriage of the machine. The controller may determine, based on the sensor data, that the idler block has moved from a first position to a second position. The controller may determine an amount of wear of an idler of the idler assembly based on the idler block moving from the first position to the second position. The controller may determine whether the amount of wear satisfies a wear threshold. The controller may cause the machine to perform an action based on determining whether the amount of wear satisfies the wear threshold.
