HEADLIGHT MATRIX SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A VEHICLE
A headlight system for a banking vehicle is provided. The headlight system includes a plurality of optical assemblies being arranged about an optical horizon and an optical vertical axis. Each of the plurality of optical assemblies includes an illumination source and an optical element. Each of the illumination sources is configured to direct light toward a corresponding one of the optical elements to produce an illumination region. The illumination regions combine to form an illumination pattern that includes at least one illumination region that is radial and is positioned relative an optical origin. The intersection between the optical horizon and the optical vertical axis defines the optical origin.
LIGHTING APPARATUS ARRANGEMENT FOR SADDLE RIDING VEHICLE, AND SADDLE RIDING VEHICLE
To provide a lighting apparatus arrangement for a saddle riding vehicle, allowing a predetermined illumination distance and illumination range of laser light to be easily achieved. A lighting apparatus includes a laser device, a first light guide, and a front-portion light emitting unit. The laser device emits laser light. The first light guide guides light from the laser device to any desired position. The front-portion light emitting unit is disposed at a distal end of the first light guide and irradiates areas around a vehicle with light from the first light guide. The front-portion light emitting unit is disposed at a position higher in level than a lower end of a meter unit disposed at a front portion of a vehicle body.
Vehicle
A vehicle which turns in a state in which a vehicle body is banked from an upright state to a first side in a vehicle width direction of the vehicle body, comprises a lamp which is attached to the vehicle body, and irradiates a lamp irradiation region set in front of the vehicle body; a detecting section which detects a change over time of a posture of the vehicle body while the vehicle is traveling; and a control section which controls the lamp in such a manner that the lamp irradiation region is changed based on the change over time of the posture of the vehicle body which is detected by the detecting section.
Systems and methods for illumination control and distribution during a vehicle bank
A bank angle of a vehicle can be accurately calculated using yaw axis data and roll axis data, and based on the calculated bank angle, vehicle illumination optics can be controlled to maintain a pattern of distributed light from the illumination optics to be generally horizontal. The calculated bank angle may be zeroed when the yaw axis data equals zero. The improved pattern of distributed light from the illumination optics illuminates a more natural field of view for the vehicle driver during a bank. In some embodiments, the vehicle illumination optics can include a primary illumination group and a plurality of side illumination groups.
STRADDLE-TYPE VEHICLE
A straddle vehicle comprises a cover member covering a vehicle body; a head lamp unit which is disposed at a front portion of the straddle vehicle and emits a light beam with which a forward region of the vehicle body is irradiated; and a sub-light-unit which is provided separately from the head lamp unit and emits the light beam with which the forward region is irradiated, wherein the sub-light-unit includes: a housing disposed along an edge of the cover member; a light source member which emits the light beam inside the housing; a reflector which is accommodated in the housing and reflects the light beam emitted from the light source member; and an optical axis adjustment mechanism which supports the reflector on the housing in such a manner that the reflector is tiltable with respect to the housing, and changes a posture of the reflector with respect to the housing.
Headlight device
A headlight device includes a light source, a base member, a light distribution formation member, a rotary member, a projection lens and a transmission mechanism. The base member holds the light source. The light distribution formation member forms a light distribution pattern. The rotary member holds the light distribution formation member and is held by the base member to be rotatable. The projection lens is held by the rotary member to be rotatable around a rotation axis orthogonal to a rotation axis. The transmission mechanism includes a transmission member for transmitting a rotation amount of the rotary member with respect to the base member to the projection lens and rotates the projection lens according to the rotation of the rotary member with respect to the base member.
Adaptive lighting system
A lighting system for a vehicle having a vehicle structure. The vehicle has a vehicle speed sensor generating a vehicle speed signal. The lighting system has a housing and a lens coupled to the housing. The lens has a focal point. The system also has a plurality of light sources generating light and an actuator coupled to the lens. A controller selectively controls the actuator to move the lens relative to the light sources to change the focal point based on the vehicle speed signal.

Regulation system of the headlights in a tilting vehicle with roll mechanism
A regulation system of one or more supports of the domes of the headlights in a vehicle having a chassis, a rear wheel, at least one front steering wheel and a roll and steering mechanism operatively connected with the chassis is described. The regulation system comprises articulated connection means between the roll and steering mechanism and the supports for controlling the domes of such headlights so that they rotate such to compensate the roll rotation of the vehicle while driving.
VEHICLE
A vehicle comprises a head lamp which irradiates a head lamp irradiation region set in front of a vehicle body; an auxiliary lamp which irradiates an auxiliary lamp irradiation region set in front of the head lamp irradiation region; a bank state detecting section which detects a bank state of the vehicle body; and a lighting control section which lights the auxiliary lamp depending on the bank state, the lighting control section causes the auxiliary lamp to be lighted in a set lighting state when the bank state detecting section detects a predetermined set bank state, and the lighting control section causes the auxiliary lamp to be lighted in a preceding lighting state at luminosity lower than that of the set lighting state, when the bank state detecting section detects a preceding bank state which occurs before the vehicle body reaches the set bank state.
