The transmission pinion gear being displaceable along the axle and configured for engaging with a rotatable gear plate. The gear plate is coaxially articulated with the output shaft and the gear plate is configured at an inside face thereof with a plurality of coaxially disposed gear rings. The transmission pinion gear is engageable with a gear ring of the gear plate, and the gear ratio changing mechanism comprises a manipulator configured for selective radial displacing the transmission pinion gear between gear rings of the gear plate. The axle is configured to rotate about its longitudinal axis and simultaneously rotate about a central axis of the input shaft in a direction opposed to the direction of rotation of the transmission plate.

TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

A transmission system, such as for a two wheeled bicycle, including an axle assembly including a set of sprockets, a transmission unit having an input coupled to the set of sprockets and an output arranged to be coupled to a wheel. The transmission unit includes a transmission operable according to a first transmission ratio and a second transmission ratio, a clutch or brake system for switching from the first to the second transmission ratio under load, and a first actuator for controlling the clutch or brake for coupling or decoupling. The transmission system including a second actuator for selecting one of the sprockets for transmission of torque to the axle assembly, and a controller configured to receive a first shift signal and/or a second shift signal, and configured to control the first actuator and/or the second actuator in response to the first or second shift signal.

A transmission system, such as for a two wheeled bicycle, including an axle assembly including a set of sprockets, a transmission unit having an input coupled to the set of sprockets and an output arranged to be coupled to a wheel. The transmission assembly may include a motor gear, a planetary gear, an idler gear, and a ring gear. The idler gear may be positioned farther away from an axis of rotation of the hub motor arrangement compared to the planetary gear. The motor gear may drive the planetary gear, the planetary gear may drive the idler gear, and idler gear may drive the ring gear. The rotation of the ring gear may rotate a housing of the hub motor arrangement to propel a vehicle incorporating the hub motor arrangement.
