Universal Foil Mounting System with Quick Connect & Disconnect
20200307742 · 2020-10-01 ·

A universal, quick release foil mounting system is disclosed. The device is comprised of three mam parts: a first part being a mount plate that is fixedly connected to existing kite surfing, windsurfing and standup paddle boarding foils by means of fasteners; a second part being a base plate that is fixedly secured to the mast track of existing kite surfing, standup paddle hoarding (SUP) and windsurfing boardsalso affixed by means of fasteners; a third part being a quick disconnect system on said mount plate or base plate comprised of, but not limited to catch tabs, locking pins and slide locks etc. The mount plate is configured to receive the base plate and temporarily join the foil mast to the board. An object of the invention is to allow any foil having standard 165 mm90 mm (6.53.5) hole mounts (as well as other dimensions) to be quickly installed or removed from a board.

ANISOTROPICALLY FLEXIBLE VIBRATION ISOLATING COUPLING MECHANISM

A flexible coupling mechanism may be used to suspend a structural component, such as a propulsion pod, from a support member, such as a strut of a hydrofoil watercraft. The flexible coupling mechanism may include multiple vibration isolating mounts configured to extend through the support member to suspend the structural component. The vibration isolating mounts may include a plurality of elastomeric bushings configured to prevent direct contact between a component rigidly coupled to the support member and a component rigidly coupled to the structural component. The elastomeric bushings may include a tapered outer profile configured to provide a nonlinear force feedback profile in response to rotation of the support member relative to the structural component.

Disclosed is a fuselage assembly (100) configured to be attached to a mast assembly (50) of a powered hydrofoil watercraft (1). The fuselage assembly (100) comprises a mast assembly fixation section (106) and an outer housing portion (170) which accommodates, in particular surrounds or encases, a propulsion device (200), in particular an impeller (201), and which outer housing portion (170) at least partially limits an outer dimension of a flow channel (161) through which water is transported during operation of the hydrofoil watercraft (1). The outer housing portion (170) comprises an attachment portion (310) on which a tail unit (300), in particular 10 comprising a stabilizing member (301) such as a stabilizing wing (302), is formed or attachable thereto. In addition or alternatively, the propulsion device (200) may be accommodated in the outer housing portion (170) such that a user is prevented from touching the propulsion device (200).

Resiliently Flexible Fin

The present invention relates to a resiliently flexible fin for a surfboard or another surface watercraft, the resiliently flexible fin comprising a titanium or titanium alloy core and an opening in the trailing edge that enables a portion of the rear of the fin to resiliently flex against the force of water as the surfboard is turned, which can generate additional forward thrust for the surfboard as the surfboard exits the turn and the fin returns to its unflexed state displacing water in its path with force.

The present invention is a dual-purpose mounting system for attaching removable hydrofoils along a rideable board. The dual-purpose mounting system reduces repetitive stress exerted on the hull of the rideable board by foil bending and torsion, therefore prolonging the hull life of the rideable board. The dual-purpose mounting system is a solid one-piece constructed foil strongbox having a mounting body that is installed into a surfboard hull. A mounting receptacle is positioned within the mounting body to receive a tuttle style hydrofoil mount through a first hydrofoil aperture at a mounting surface of the mounting body. A pair of second hydrofoil apertures traverses into the mounting surface to further facilitate attachment of a plate style hydrofoil. A plurality of fastener sleeves traverses into the mounting body opposite the mounting receptacle enable attachment of the mounting body to the surfboard hull.

UNDERWATER WINGS FOR PROVIDING LIFT TO BOATS

The present invention relates generally to underwater wings for providing lift to boats. More particularly, exemplary embodiments of the present invention include a pair of underwater wings that attach to the hulls of a pontoon. The purpose of the wings is to provide a designated amount of lift to reduce drag and improve performance of the watercraft. This is different from a traditional hydrofoil, which is designed to lift a boat completely out of the water. Ideally, the wings are connected to the deck of the pontoon boat via adjustable mounts that allow the wings to be raised or lowered in the water to adjust the amount of drag.

Advanced Hydrofoil Apparatus

Hydrofoils are a device that is used to decrease the resistance of a water traveling apparatus. It does this by creating lift on its wings which pushes the apparatus off the surface of the water, to reduce friction. My patent pertains to hydrofoils that are attached onto boards for various water sports. These board sports include, but aren't limited to, surfing, stand up paddling, kitesurfing, kiteboarding, wakeboarding, wake surfing, and windsurfing.

Collapsible underwater foil for boats convertible to a hydrofoil from a trim stabilizer

The invention relates to a trim stabilizer device comprising a foil being structurally independent from the transom of a boat to which it is to be mounted and being tiltable around its transversal axis; a first actuator associated with the foil for tilting thereof; a adjusting arm associated with the foil, at one end, for making a vertical motion thereof relative to the transom, and at the other end, associated with a connecting member provided on the transom. The trim stabilizer device for boats comprises a second actuator for making a vertical motion by a non-manual force of the adjusting arm.

The present disclosure provides generally for a hydrofoil system that may allow a surfboard to glide above the water surface. According to the present disclosure, a rider may be able to manipulate a hydrofoil device attached to a surfboard with limited training and athletic ability. The present disclosure provides for a hydrofoil system that may allow riders to use a light leaning motion to adjust the angle of a front wing to create forward thrust to produce a flow for creating lift. In some aspects, the front wing may tilt to reduce downward drag force in a lifting phase while locking into place during a glide to provide a sustained lift of the surfboard out of the water.
