Innovative booster to increase the final penetration depth of gravity installed plate anchor

An anchor booster is designed to increase the final penetration depth of the gravity installed plate anchor. Moreover, the booster can also improve the directional stability of the gravity installed plate anchor during its free fall in water. After installation, the booster is retrieved by pulling its retrieval line up and can be used for the subsequent installation. The booster is comprised of a cylindrical shaft with three rear fins. The shaft is designed with an ellipsoidal tip and a contracted rear. The shaft rear is set with three slots thus the rear fins can be inserted into the slots to improve the directional stability of the hybrid anchor (i.e. the gravity installed plate anchor with a booster). The booster tip is fabricated with a cylindrical slot and the anchor tail has a compatible bar, such that the booster can be connected to the anchor tail by a shear pin.

Gravitation anchor for offshore anchoring of ships and platforms

The present invention is related to a gravitation anchor for offshore anchoring of ships and platforms, comprising a main body (10) with a longitudinal axis of revolution (11), comprising a means of stabilization (14), whereby the means of stabilization (14) comprises a means of automatic activation (140). Optionally, the means of stabilization comprises at least one stabilizer (14), whereby each stabilizer (14) comprises an end pivotally attached (141) to the gravitation anchor (1), and a free end, whereby when the stabilizer (14) is in a retracted position, the free end is positioned closer to the main body (10) of the gravitation anchor (1), and whereby when the stabilizer (14) is in an extended position, the free end is positioned away from the main body (10) of the gravitation anchor (1).

Mooring System for a Floating Wind Turbine

The invention relates to a system comprising: a foundation element that has a universal joint, wherein the universal joint has a first universal joint element connected to the foundation element for conjoint rotation and a second universal joint element which is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the first universal joint element by carrying out a rotation about its own longitudinal axis; a floating wind turbine; and a mooring line. One end of mooring line is connected to the foundation element a first connector connected to the second universal joint element for conjoint rotation and the other end of which is connected to the floating wind turbine a second connector rotatably mounted on the floating wind turbine. The system also includes a controller which, on the basis of the rotational position of the floating wind turbine about the foundation element, brings about the adoption of a rotational position of the second connector rotatably mounted on the floating wind turbine; wherein the rotational position of the second connector rotatably mounted on the floating wind turbine corresponds to the rotational position of the second universal joint element about its own longitudinal axis, which rotational position geometrically corresponds to the rotational position of the floating wind turbine about the foundation element.

AN INNOVATIVE BOOSTER TO INCREASE THE FINAL PENETRATION DEPTH OF OMNI-MAX ANCHOR
20180346074 · 2018-12-06 ·

An anchor booster, which belongs to the field of ocean engineering, is designed to increase the final penetration depth of the OMNI-Max anchor. The anchor booster is attached to the tail of the OMNI-Max anchor to increase its impact velocity in water and penetration depth in seabed. Moreover, the booster can also improve the directional stability of the OMNI-Max anchor during its free fall in water. After installation, the booster is retrieved by pulling its retrieval line up and can be used for the subsequent installation. The booster is comprised of a cylindrical shaft with three rear fins. The shaft is designed with an ellipsoidal tip and a contracted rear to reduce the drag force during free fall in water and dynamic installation in seabed. The shaft rear is set with three slots separated by 120 in plane thus the rear fins can be inserted into the slots to improve the directional stability of the hybrid anchor (i.e. the OMNI-Max anchor with a booster). The booster tip is fabricated with a cylindrical slot and the anchor tail has a compatible bar, such that the booster can be connected to the anchor tail by a shear pin. The booster geometry is simple, allowing for cost effective fabrication. With the aid of a booster, the final penetration depth and thus the holding capacity of the OMNI-Max anchor can be increased to a great extent. Therefore, the safety factor is increased or the total cost is reduced for the mooring system.

Stern running lighting apparatus

A stern running light is pivotally attached to the mast of a shallow water anchor system thereby avoiding the need for a separate stern running light. The top end of the mast holds both a pivotable cluster of LED lights that emit light in a 360 degree horizontal plane and, below it, a flood light in a clear plastic housing for task lighting within the fishing boat to which the mast is attached. A power cord for the stern runs to the battery for the mast from the stern running light and flood light. The mast of the shallow water anchor is at a height suitable to meet stern running light height requirements and the use of white LEDs meets light visibility requirements.

Bionic high holding power anchor

The present invention discloses a bionic high holding power anchor, which includes an anchor rod, a suspension clasp coupled with one end of the anchor rod and an anchor fluke hinged with the other end of the anchor rod, wherein a plurality of fluke heads arranged at equal intervals are extended from a front end of the anchor fluke, fin-like streamlined balance wings are arranged at two sides of the anchor fluke; the fluke head is in a shape of triangle-like taper containing a plane side wall and two curved side walls, the plane side wall is an isosceles triangle, the two curved side walls are smooth curved surfaces, and the two smooth curved surfaces are symmetrical around a normal plane of the plane side wall. According to the bionic high holding power anchor of the present invention, the balance wings are arranged at the two sides of the anchor fluke, a body is avoided from being turned completely and the anchor reaches to a soil layer at a correct working angle during a process that the anchor is thrown into water; and a longitudinal dimension of the anchor is increased, so that an anti-turning property of the anchor in the soil layer is improved significantly, and a risk of anchor dragging is reduced.
