A methane transportation system is provided. The system may include a methane source configured to dispense methane at a first location, and an underwater vehicle. The underwater vehicle may include a propulsion system configured to transport the underwater vehicle underwater from the first location to a second location and a vessel defining a storage chamber configured to receive water and the methane from the methane source. The storage chamber of the vessel may have a pressure exceeding one atmosphere and a temperature during transport from the first location to the second location sufficient to form methane clathrate in the storage chamber. The system may further include a methane receiver configured to receive the methane released from the storage chamber at the second location. Related methods are also provided.

Method for Transshipment of Liquid Cargo on Typical Tankers and Flexible Insert "Removable Coating Tankerpack"
20240149986 · 2024-05-09 ·

A method of transshipping liquid cargo in a tanker, including loading and unloading. Before loading, inserts are arranged in cargo tanks, with inlet and outlet openings of the inserts attached at corresponding openings of hatches, after which the inserts are unfolded. A temporary cargo system is assembled, including a pipeline with adapters and portable hoses, which are lowered into the openings of the inserts. The cargo is loaded into the tanks at a port of origin through the hatches into the inserts. After loading, the cargo system is disassembled. For unloading, the cargo system is assembled, with submersible pumps attached to ends of the hoses, the hoses with the pumps are lowered into the inserts, and the cargo is unloaded from the tanks to reservoirs at a port of destination using the pumps. The cargo system is disassembled and the inserts are removed from the tanks and sent for disposal.

System for Offshore Production of Fuel
20240217830 · 2024-07-04 ·

A method and system for the offshore production of fuel includes an offshore marine platform on which is mounted an ammonia production unit. The ammonia production unit may produce ammonia utilizing raw materials sourced adjacent the marine platform, including seawater and electricity from offshore wind turbines. The produced ammonia may be subsequently liquified and transported away from the marine platform, or conveyed to a remote location via a seabed pipeline. A portion of the hydrogen produced as part of the ammonia production process may be utilized to operate onboard combustion turbines that can in turn drive electric generators onboard the marine platform to produce electricity.
