Livestock confinement gating system and method
11564372 · 2023-01-31 · ·

A gating system comprising a gate, footplate, latch, c-bracket, and parallel structural members which provides infinite mounting points to connect gates to slotted floor slates with a footplate. The gating system simplifies the design, manufacture, installation, and operation of animal management.

MILKING ARRANGEMENT
20220361442 · 2022-11-17 ·

A milking arrangement includes plural milking places, each milking place having a primary end and an opposite secondary end, an entrance at the primary end, a front side and a rear side, which both extend in parallel with the longitudinal axis, a plurality of sequence gates arranged between the front side and the rear side, each of the sequence gates being pivotable between a closed position and an open position, each sequence gate being only pivotable from its closed position to its open position in a pivotation direction in which the front end is pivoted into a milking place towards the front side of the milking arrangement, main extension planes of the sequence gates being aligned when the sequence gates are in their closed position, with a lower edge of each sequence gate defining a bulge that extends downwards.

Animal crate

A door assembly for an animal enclosure includes a door frame and a door each having a plurality of interconnected horizontal and vertical wires. The door frame defines an opening for an animal to pass therethrough, and the door is slidably coupled to the door frame such that it moves between an open position and a closed position relative to the door frame to allow egress and ingress through the opening. A catch member is coupled to the door frame. A latch includes a base member, a bolt, and a lever portion. A first vertical wire and a second vertical wire of the door are spaced from one another such that the first vertical wire is at a first end of the door and the second vertical wire is at a second end of the door. In the closed position, the bolt is coupled to the first vertical wire.

Livestock handling apparatus

This invention relates in general to a confining and restraining apparatus for livestock to facilitate their handling. The apparatus has an animal receiving stall having a frame, a base and a means for rotatably mounting the frame on the base. The animal receiving stall has opposed, entrance and exit openings, an entrance gate assembly is located at the entrance opening and fixed to one end of the base. The exit gate assembly is located at the exit opening and attached at one end of the frame, the exit gate assembly having a pair of stanchions which are adapted to capture a neck of an animal therebetween. The means for rotatably mounting the frame to the base allows rotation of the frame in both clockwise and counter clockwise directions around a vertical axis to position an animal in a selected treatment position.

Hinge and methods of mounting and using a hinge

A hinge permitting a gate to rotate approximately 180 degrees in either direction. The hinge includes first, second, third, and fourth hinge members and first, second, third, and fourth crossbars. The first, second, third, and fourth crossbars form an interpivoting connection with the first, second, third, and fourth hinge members.

Pet door enclosure system

The door system disclosed herein includes a frame and a door fabricated from a plurality of horizontal and vertical wire rods. The door may have an inverted hook which is aligned to a horizontal wire rod of the frame when the door is pivoted to the closed position. To close the door, the door is dropped so that the horizontal wire rod of the frame is traversed into the inverted hook. At this point, the animal inside of the pet crate cannot open the door by pushing the door. Rather, the door must be raised so that the inverted hook clears the horizontal wire rod of the frame to pivot the door to the opened position.

Method and device for weaning calves
11304407 · 2022-04-19 ·

A method for weaning calves from their mothers without direct human intervention. The method consists of a specialized weaning gate that allows calves to creep graze into an adjacent paddock but does not allow the mother to follow. The gate allows the calves to return to the mothers, to acclimate the calves to moving through the gate and grazing independently and to acclimate the mothers to being temporarily separated from the calves. Once the calves have reached the appropriate age to be weaned, the gate is adjusted to become a one-way gate so that the calves will creep graze into the adjacent field but will not be able to return to the original field with the mothers, which allows the calves to be fully weaned without direct human intervention.

Various implementations include an animal kennel door system. The system includes a door frame and a door. The door frame includes a frame body and one or more connecting flanges. The frame body defines a frame opening, and each of the one or more connecting flanges extends from the frame body away from the frame opening. The one or more connecting flanges has at least one coupling surface. The coupling surface has at least a first coupling portion and a second coupling portion. The door is hingedly coupled to a portion of the frame body. A portion of the first and second flange coupling portions each lie in a different plane, and the planes are transverse to each other.
