A SEALING ARRANGEMENT FOR A GARMENT

A sealing arrangement that has an annular base portion and a pair of first and second flexible sleeve portions extending from the annular base portion and configured to form corresponding first and second sealing connector portions, respectively. Each of the flexible sleeve portions has a proximal portion and a distal portion in relation to the annular base portion, said proximal portions extending radially spaced apart from the annular base portion, wherein the second flexible sleeve portion is configured to be turnable about an annular imaginary line and between an open position and a sealing-connecting position relative to the first flexible sleeve portion, in which at least a portion of the second flexible sleeve portion is superposed the first flexible sleeve portion. The first and second flexible sleeve portions are further configured to form a friction fit over a portion of an annular flexible wearable layer in said sealing-connecting position.

DUAL ADJUSTING WATERPROOF SEAL FOR DRYSUITS
20180086425 · 2018-03-29 ·

A waterproof seal includes a flexible annular tube formed by an inner layer and an outer layer of a garment and surrounding a passage through which a human appendage is intended to protrude. A first cord is positioned in a cavity defined by the annular tube. The first cord has a first end, a second end and extends more than 180 degrees and less than 360 degrees around the passage with the first end and the second end exiting the annular tube. A second cord is positioned in the cavity defined by the annular tube. The second cord has a first end, a second end and extends more than 180 degrees and less than 360 degrees around the passage with the first end and the second end exiting the annular tube. The first cord and the second cord cumulatively cover more than 360 degrees around the passage to provide an effective water seal.

BREATHABLE WATERPROOF STRETCHABLE MULTI-LAYER FOAM CONSTRUCT

A breathable waterproof stretchable multi-layer foam construct includes a stretchable closed-cell foam layer having a first face and a second face. A plurality of vents are dispersed across the foam layer, with each vent extending through the foam layer from a first end at the first face to a second end at the second face. A first breathable waterproof stretchable fabric laminate is bonded by adhesive to the foam layer and covering the first end of each vent at the first face. A second breathable waterproof stretchable fabric laminate is bonded by adhesive to the foam layer and covering the second end of each vent at the second face. The breathable waterproof stretchable multi-layer foam construct can be used to fabricate such articles as floatation-assist devices, sports apparel and water immersion suits.

Adjustable circumferential seal

An adjustable circumference seal includes an envelope having an outer layer and an inner layer, with the inner layer defining a sealing surface. A circumferential closure is provided for constricting the inner layer of the envelope and thereby adjusting a circumference of the inner layer of the envelope. The closure includes a band having a first end and a second end, with a first cord guide at the first end and a second cord guide at the second end. A cord is threaded from the outer layer through a cord channel in the envelope, through the first cord guide of the band, through the second cord guide of the band and back through the cord channel. By pulling the cord, the circumference of the inner layer of the envelope is reduced until the sealing surface is brought into a sealing engagement. A cord lock for maintains the cord in a selected position.

HAZARDOUS-ENVIRONMENTAL DIVING SYSTEMS

This disclosure provides a protective diving system for isolating a diver from a hazardous diving environment. The protective diving system can include a dry suit system including a dry suit and a surface exhaust valve coupled to the dry suit, and a return-surface exhaust assembly configured to exhaust gas from the dry suit system to a breathable atmosphere outside of the diving environment of the diver. The surface exhaust valve is configured to receive gas from the dry suit and exhaust gas to the return-surface exhaust assembly without exhausting to the surrounding diving environment. The protective diving system can further include one or more chemically-resistant components, where the chemically-resistant components include a fluoroelastomer.

Sports suit with heating system and kit of parts therefor
09580157 · 2017-02-28 ·

A system that maintains a comfortable hand and/or feet temperature during the course of a water sports activity. Exhaled breath is fed to the inside of the sportsman's gloves and/or boots down a tube which runs along the inside of the wetsuit to take full advantage of the insulating properties of that wetsuit. Rubber moulding units at the rear neck wrists and/or ankles facilitate the tubing's entry and exit from the wetsuit without disturbing the watertight properties of that wetsuit. The rubber mouldings can either be built into the wetsuit itself or separate inserts to go between the sportsman's skin and the wetsuit seals at the neck wrists and ankles.

CONVERTIBLE SEAL FOR A SUIT USED IN AND AROUND WATER

A convertible seal for a suit used in and around water includes a body having at least one of a collar, a sleeve or a pant leg that must be sealed to prevent water entry during use. The collar, sleeve or pant leg is equipped with a permanently attached seal configuration that has an operative position is in axial alignment with the collar, sleeve or pant leg and a stored position out of axial alignment with the collar, sleeve or pant leg.

Self-righting underwater escape and surface survival suit system

A self-righting underwater escape and surface survival suit includes an ascent hood and an inflatable bladder in fluid communication with the ascent hood. Breathable air from the vessel is used to inflate the inflatable bladder for ascent to and/or survival on the water surface. During ascent, breathable air is provided to the ascent hood from the inflated inflatable bladder. The inflated inflatable bladder is configured to provide self-righting of the wearer upon surfacing and to support the wearer on the water surface, even if the wearer is incapacitated or the ascent hood is opened.

DRYSUIT WITH STRETCH AND COMPRESSION PANELS

A drysuit includes: a body suit formed of water impermeable material having a front portion, a back portion, a first side portion, a second side portion, a head opening, and an entry opening; one or more seals connected to the head opening and the entry; fastener connected to the entry opening; and one or more elongated panels of elastic material connected to and overlaying the first side portion, the second side portion, the front portion, or the back portion in a longitudinal direction for providing stretch to and compression to the body suit in a transverse direction; wherein the one or more panels of elastic material are smaller in area than the first side portion, the second side portion, the front portion, or the back portion. The drysuit provides stretch and compression at critical points of the drysuit for increased safety, fit, durability and adaptability to/for the user.
