A HELICOPTER
An emergency exit for a helicopter is described that comprises: a wall defining an opening; a removable part engaging the opening in a removable manner; and a seal interposed between the wall and the removable part. The seal is transformable between: a first configuration, in which it prevents removal of the removable part from the wall following application of a predetermined load on the removable part; and a second configuration, in which it allows removal of the removable part from the wall following application of the predetermined load on the removable part. The emergency exit comprises an insert interposed between the seal and the wall; at least one of the insert and the seal comprise at least one tooth engaging a recess with a shape corresponding to the tooth and defined by the other of the insert and said seal, when the seal keeps, in use, the removable part constrained to wall.
GLAZING UNIT, IN PARTICULAR FOR AERONAUTICS, ABLE TO BE BLOCKED IN ITS RECEIVING OPENING IN THE EVENT OF BREAKAGE
A window pane includes at least one structural substrate referred to as interior substrate, intended to face toward a host structure within which the window pane is intended to be fixed, and having a face, referred to as interior face, wherein the interior face of the substrate includes, projecting therefrom and at the edge or near the edge and along at least one of the sides of the window pane, at least one male or female retaining element intended to collaborate with at least one respectively female or male retaining shape arranged in the host structure of the window pane.
Methods for bonding a structural component within a channel of a rail
The present disclosure provides a method for bonding a structural component to a rail. The method includes (a) positioning a bonding agent in a plurality of blind holes defined in a bottom surface of the rail, (b) positioning a spacer in each of the plurality of blind holes, (c) positioning the structural component into the channel such that the structural component rests on each spacer, wherein a first gap is defined between the structural component and the bottom surface of the rail, a second gap is defined between the structural component and a first sidewall of the rail, and a third gap is defined between the structural component and a second sidewall of the rail, and (d) injecting the bonding agent into the channel such that each of the first gap, the second gap, and the third gap includes the bonding agent.
Method for repairing delamination and moisture by heat, pressure and adhesive
A method for repairing aircraft window laminates in which two plies have become separated to create a void, and wherein moisture may have entered through an edge of the window laminate and into the void. The method includes the steps of: placing the window laminate in a vacuum bag and inserting the vacuum bag containing the window laminate into an oven or autoclave for a minimum of ten minutes at a minimum temperature of 120 degrees Fahrenheit to remove the moisture between the plies; removing the vacuum bag and window laminate from the oven, and removing the window from the vacuum bag; forcing a needle on a syringe through the edge of the window laminate in the area of the void; and injecting an adhesive in the syringe into the void to fill the void with the adhesive.
Vehicle window assembly including a shade having an illumination
A window assembly for a vehicle includes a frame, one or more panes secured to the frame, and a shade movably coupled to the frame. The shade is configured to be moved between an open position and a closed position. The shade includes an illuminator that is configured to allow ambient light from outside of the vehicle to pass through and illuminate the illuminator.
Aircraft window plug device
An aircraft window plug device is described. Embodiments of the aircraft window plug device can include, but are not limited to, a plate, a compression assembly, and a bolt assembly. Components of the compression assembly can be coupled to the plate via the bolt assembly. Typically, the aircraft window plug device can be inserted into a hole created by a window of an aircraft suffering a catastrophic failure. The aircraft window plug device can create an airtight seal to help the aircraft pressurize.
UNITARY AIRCRAFT WINDSHIELD WITH CONICAL SINGLE CURVATURE
A windshield for an aircraft cockpit is provided which includes a glazed windshield part which has a single curvature corresponding to a portion of the envelope of a cone extending between a lower plane and an upper plane which intersect an axis of the cone. The single curvature of the glazed part of the windshield enables the glazed part to be produced more easily, for example by rolling or by hydroforming. It also makes it possible to create configurations for a cockpit for two pilots, a single pilot or even no pilot, on the basis of a single aerodynamic shape of the fuselage of the aircraft by only adapting the structure of the windshield. Also provided are a windshield frame for such a windshield, a windshield assembly including such a windshield frame and such a windshield, and an aircraft equipped with such a windshield.
WINDOW CLAMP SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
A window clamp system and method are to secure a window pane to a window frame of a vehicle. The window clamp system includes a mounting bracket configured to be secured to the window frame, one or more ratchets coupled to the mounting bracket, and a spring clip configured to move in relation to the mounting bracket and the one or more ratchets. The spring clip is configured to engage a seal positioned around the window pane.
Metamaterial optical filter and method for producing the same
A metamaterial optical filter including: a transparent substrate; and a photosensitive polymer layer provided to the transparent substrate, wherein the photosensitive polymer layer is treated using a laser to form a non-conformal holographically patterned subwavelength grating, the holographic grating configured to block a predetermined wavelength of electromagnetic radiation. A system and method for manufacturing holographically patterned subwavelength grating onto the photosensitive polymer layer including: applying a photosensitive polymer layer to a transparent substrate; placing the photosensitive polymer layer between a laser and a mirror; scanning the laser over the photosensitive polymer layer such that a holographic grating is created within the photosensitive polymer layer by interaction between the laser light and light reflected from the mirror; and stacking two or more holographically patterned subwavelength grating layers to form complex metamaterial optical filter stacks.
Aircraft canopy having a window pane with an integrated flange and load-transferring and distributing members
An aircraft canopy includes a window pane, a frame from a primary structure of the aircraft, and a flange fastened to the frame with fastening screw, characterized in that: the flange is secured to the peripheral edge of the window pane by engaging of at least one plate of the flange between plies of the window pane, so that flange and window pane form an all in one-piece assembly, at each fastening screw, a load-transferring and distributing member is arranged between an outer surface of the flange and the fasting screw, a cavity being provided in the flange for receiving the load-transferring and distributing member, the member having a recess for receiving the screw head.
