Customizing aircraft performance systems and methods
10752339 · 2020-08-25 · ·

Systems and methods are described for changing the performance of an aircraft by customizing aircraft control system parameters based on a subjective personal preference of a pilot. The system includes a user interface for receiving the customized aircraft control system parameters from the pilot. A first aircraft control module may receive the customized aircraft control system parameters from the user interface, and also receive flight control commands from the pilot. The received flight control commands and the received customized aircraft control system parameters may be processed by the first aircraft control module to cause the aircraft to perform according to customized characteristics as determined by the pilot.

Adjustable cyclic stick

A cyclic stick for transmitting control commands to blades of a rotorcraft via at least one transmission member, including a grip configured for engagement with a pilot's hand, a control arm and at least one locking mechanism. The control arm has a bottom end configured for connection to the transmission member(s) and for rotational connection to a base support structure, and a top end pivotally connected to the grip. The control arm includes first and second arm portions pivotally connected to each other, the first arm portion defining the bottom end, the second arm portion defining the top end. The locking mechanism(s) selectively prevent a relative pivoting motion between the first and second arm portions and a relative pivoting motion between the second arm portion and the grip. A method of adjusting a position of a grip of a cyclic stick in a rotorcraft cabin is also discussed.

Device for piloting an aircraft and associated method

A piloting device for piloting an aircraft comprises a first and a second control stick mounted movable on a support. The device comprises a priority selection module configured to switch the first and second control sticks between a piloting configuration and a non-piloting configuration. The device further comprises a detection system for detecting the positions of the first and second control sticks; a first and second actuation system configured to generate respective first and second forces on the respective first and second control stick; and a control module configured to control the actuation system of the control stick which is in a non-piloting configuration such that the positions of the control sticks are identical.
