A system in a fixed-wing aircraft includes inflatable buoyant bags. Each of the inflatable buoyant bags is arranged to conformally cover a corresponding pylon attachment of the fixed-wing aircraft in a deflated state. The system also includes a tank storing pressurized gas and a controller to control inflow of the pressurized gas from the tank into the inflatable buoyant bags to increase buoyancy of the fixed-wing aircraft and to control outflow of the pressurized gas out of the inflatable buoyant bags to decrease buoyancy of the fixed-wing aircraft.

A deployable aircraft flotation system. The deployable aircraft flotation system includes a pair of flotation members. The pair of flotation members are positioned on opposing sides of a bottom surface of an aircraft body. Each flotation member of the pair of flotation members has an inner layer that is made of a first buoyant material, an outer layer that is made of a second buoyant material, and a middle layer between the inner layer and the outer layer that is made of a rigid material. The flotation members can be moved from a stowed position, where they are stored in housings, to a deployed position, where they emerge and are positioned on the bottom of the plane.

AIR, SEA, LAND AND UNDERWATER TILT TRI-ROTOR UAV CAPABLE OF PERFORMING VERTICAL TAKE-OFF AND LANDING
20200062386 · 2020-02-27 ·

An air, sea, land and underwater tilt tri-rotor UAV capable of performing vertical take-off and landing. By the method for controlling a submerged floating device and a tilt tri-rotor device, the UAV is switched among the vertical take-off and landing mode, fixed wing mode, water surface sailing mode and underwater submerging mode, thereby making same have the advantages of four kinds of UAVs, and enhancing the applicability, maneuverability and efficiency of UAV. This has high efficiency in power system, has obviously improved endurance time and flight distance as compared with the traditional multi rotor UAV because of having the fixed wing mode, is applicable to more scenarios, and may operate on flat land, mountain land, water surface and underwater, thereby completing designated missions such as aerial, ground, water surface and underwater investigation, survey and concealment.

Integrated float-wing
10399673 · 2019-09-03 · ·

An aircraft which includes a float-wing having a leading edge, a trailing edge, and an airfoil shape to produce aerodynamic lift when the float-wing flows through air at a lift-producing angle of attack in a forward flight mode of operation. The float-wing further includes a submersible portion that includes at least the trailing edge and which is constructed of materials and in a shape selected to produce a buoyancy force sufficient to prevent at least a non-submersible portion of the aircraft from being submersed under conditions in which the aircraft is in a waterborne non-flight position in which at least the trailing edge of the float-wing is submersed but at least the non-submersible portion of the aircraft is not submersed.

An aircraft having an airframe that extends longitudinally along an anteroposterior plane. A buoyancy system is provided with at least one pair of two floats arranged transversely on opposite sides of said anteroposterior plane. Each float is movable in elevation from a bottom position to a top position. For each float, the buoyancy system includes a blocking system for blocking each float by default in the bottom position, and for acting under a predetermined condition to block the floats present on one of the sides only of the aircraft in the top position.
