An aircraft is provided. The aircraft includes a ducted wing portion and a fan chamber. The fan chamber is attached to a bottom of the ducted wing portion. A fan assembly is provided in the fan chamber and is operative to blow air through the ducted wing portion. The ducted wing portion is configured to direct air blown by the fan assembly down to provide lift for the aircraft.
Charger connector for an electric aircraft
Aspects relate to a connector of a charger and methods of use terminating a charging connection between the charger and an electric aircraft. A connector includes a controller that is configured to receive a control signal from a remote device and terminate the charging connection in response to the control signal.
Systems and methods for lifter motor cooling in eVTOL aircraft
A VTOL aircraft includes a plurality of lift propellers configured to rotated by lift motors to provide vertical thrust during takeoff, landing and hovering operations. The lift propellers are configured to generate a cooling airflow to cool the lift motors during use. During a cruise operation when the VTOL aircraft is in forward motion, the lift propellers may be stowed in a stationary position. Therefore, the cooling airflow may be reduced or eliminated when it is not needed.
AIRCRAFT WITH FOLDING MECHANISM
An aircraft with folding mechanism, the aircraft including a fuselage, optionally a payload and/or landing gear attached to the fuselage, at least two longitudinal beams attached to the fuselage that preferably extend parallel to each other and parallel to a first aircraft axis, with lifting units attached to each of the longitudinal beams. At least one crossbeam is attached to the fuselage, and preferably extending parallel to a second aircraft axis and at right angles with respect to the longitudinal beams, with lifting units attached to the crossbeam. The longitudinal beams are rotatably attached to the fuselage by at least one respective first pivot joint configured for pivoting the longitudinal beams around a respective first pivot axis to a pivoted position. The crossbeam is rotatably attached to the fuselage, preferably by at least one second pivot joint, for pivoting the crossbeam around a second pivot axis to a pivoted position.
Vertical take-off and landing aircraft with rotor thrust yaw control
A vertical take-off and landing aircraft includes a fixed wing airframe having opposed first and second wings extending from first and second sides, respectively, of a fuselage having opposed leading and trailing extremities, and a tail assembly located behind the trailing extremity. Vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) thrust rotors are mounted to the airframe providing vertical lift to the aircraft, and a forward thrust rotor is mounted to the airframe for providing forward thrust to the aircraft. At least one of VTOL thrust rotors is laterally tilted with respect to the airframe for providing vertical lift and yaw control authority to the aircraft.
System and method for communicating a pre-charging package stream of an electric aircraft
A system for communicating at least a pre-charging datum for an electric vehicle, the system including an electric aircraft, wherein the electric aircraft comprises, a sensor, wherein the sensor is configured to detect a connection with a charging connector, at least a battery pack, wherein the at least a battery pack including a plurality of battery cells, an aircraft recharging component, the aircraft recharging component including an aircraft side recharging component, wherein the aircraft side recharging component is configured to form a charge connection with the charging connector, a controller, wherein the controller is configured to generate a battery parameter set as a function of the connection with the charging connector, and transmit the battery parameter set to the charging connector.
Aircraft with distributed power system, distributed control system, and safe deployment mechanism for ballistic recovery system
An electric aircraft comprises a single passenger seat, vertical takeoff and landing capable rotorcraft with an amphibious undercarriage for ground or water landing and takeoff. An electrical power system includes an independent battery for each motor with quick-swap mechanism to enable drained batteries to be easily removed for external charging and swapped for a charged replacement battery. A ballistic recovery system may be deployed to safely land the aircraft in the event of an emergency and may be manually deployed in response to the passenger activating a deployment mechanism integrated into handles within the cockpit. An on-board flight control system includes an automated flight controller that places constraints on flight maneuvers, and a manual flight controller provides a passenger with a limited level of control over the flight.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ACTUATOR MONITORING FOR AN ELECTRIC AIRCRAFT
The system and method for actuator monitoring of an electric aircraft is illustrated. The system includes a plurality of flight components, a computing device attached to each rotor component, and a flight controller. The plurality of flight components are coupled to the electric aircraft. A computing device is communicatively coupled to each rotor component and is configured to detect an input health datum associated with each rotor component of the plurality of flight components and transmit the input health datum to a flight controller. The flight controller is communicatively connected to the computing devices and is configured to receive the health datum from the computing devices, generate an updated health datum as a function of the input health datum, and transmit the updated health datum to each rotor component of the plurality of flight components.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR FIXED WING FLIGHT TO VERTICAL WING FLIGHT FOR LANDING AN AIRCRAFT
A system and method for landing an electric aircraft is provided. The system includes a controller, wherein the controller is communicatively connected to the sensor, wherein the controller is configured to, receive a plurality of measured flight data, determine a descent confirmation as a function of the plurality of measured flight data, generate a descent instruction set as a function of the descent confirmation and the plurality of measured flight data, wherein generating the descent instruction set further includes generating a transition instruction set, and transmit the descent instruction set to a plurality of flight components, wherein each flight component of the plurality of flight components are coupled to the electric aircraft.
Scissoring propeller with centripetally actuated centering lever lock
A propeller assembly including a shaft having a rotational axis; a plurality of propellers connected to the shaft; means for deploying the plurality of propellers using a centrifugal force generated from a rotation of the shaft, so as to provide vertical thrust during a vertical take-off and landing of the aircraft; and means for restoring the propellers into a stowed configuration.
