DOOR ARRANGEMENT FOR USE ON AN AIRCRAFT
20220228414 · 2022-07-21 ·

A door arrangement, for use on an aircraft, includes a door and an actuation arrangement. The arrangement is configured to move the door between an open position and a closed position. The actuation arrangement includes: a first member coupled to the door such that movement of the first member moves the door; a second member pivotally coupled to the first member and arranged to drive movement of the first member, wherein the second member is movable between a first position which corresponds to the door being in an open position and a second position which corresponds to the door being in a closed position; and an actuator arranged to rotate the second member between the first position and second positions. The door arrangement further comprises a fixed stop.

TRANSLATING PAYLOAD BAY PALLET FOR AIRCRAFT

A system is described and includes a first track assembly for connecting a top surface of a pallet supporting payload to an upper interior surface of a payload bay of an aircraft; a second track assembly for connecting a side surface of the pallet to a side interior surface of the payload bay; and a pallet actuator system for selectively moving the pallet along the first and second track assemblies between a first position in which the pallet is fully extended from the payload bay and a second position in which the pallet is fully retracted into the payload bay.

Container retention and release apparatus are disclosed. An example container retention and release apparatus includes an actuator, a swaybrace coupled to the actuator, and a clamp pivotally coupled to the swaybrace. The clamp pivots between a clamping position to retain a container and a release position to release a container.

Visual guidance system for barrel-fired projectiles
11326863 · 2022-05-10 ·

A winged external guidance frame placed on the muzzle that can couple with a projectile while exiting the barrel utilizing the kinetic energy of the projectile to travel to the target while the accuracy is provided by on board electronics and corrected using the wings. Alternately a reusable unmanned aerial system that travels in the speed and direction of the projectile and couples with the projectile as it exits the barrel.

IMPROVEMENTS IN AND RELATING TO OPERATING A MUNITIONS SYSTEM
20220135226 · 2022-05-05 ·

The invention relates to a method of determining the relative positions of components of a munitions system, the munitions system comprising a first component (331) and at least one second component (333). The method comprises monitoring the output of a resonant circuit (305) provided on a first component (331), the resonant circuit (305) having a resonant frequency, detecting a change in the output due to a change in the resonant frequency caused by a change in the relative positions of the first component (331) and the at least one second component (333), and using the detected change to determine that the at least one second component (333) has moved relative to the first component (331).

Retractable lug and methods for projectile coupling and decoupling

A lug assembly can include a frame, lug base, lug, and door. The lug assembly can be attached to a projectile that can be coupled and decoupled to an aircraft via the lug assembly. The frame can slidably receive the door. The lug can connect to the lug base and rotate thereabout from a first lug position to a second lug position upon the projectile decoupling. In the second lug position, the lug is contained within the frame such that an aerodynamic profile of the projectile is preserved. The door can connect to the lug base via a closing mechanism including one or more tension mechanism that apply a closing force to the door. Upon the projectile decoupling, the closing force causes the door to slide from a first to a second position, the door transitioning the lug to the second lug position and substantially sealing the frame opening.

HELICOPTER WINCH CABLE STABILIZER

A stabilizing system for a cable has a cable deployed and suspended from a helicopter, a cargo support attached at a deployed end of the cable, an end effector attached to the cable, the end effector comprising thrusters directed in a plurality of directions orthogonal to a vertical axis of the cable, first control circuitry in the helicopter, and second control circuitry in the end effector. Thrust of individual thrusters is controlled through the first and second control circuitry maintaining the axis of the cable vertical, damping swinging of the cable.
