Work-and-dine aircraft seat with tilt and shift articulation
An aircraft seat with tilt-shift functionality includes a backrest frame pivotably mounted to the seat frame, the backrest frame having rollers set into its upright end that translate through slots in the seat frame and lateral slots in its forward end capable of accepting sliders attached to the seatpan. When a passenger leans backward in the seat, tilting the backrest frame backward and downward, a shift linkage below the backrest frame translates the backward tilt to a forward shift of the seatpan forward to enhance the comfort of the passenger. The aircraft seat may further be capable of longitudinal and lateral translation as well as a full 360-degree swivel.
Aircraft seat
A seat is disclosed. The seat comprises a moveable seat carriage having a seat pan and a seat back supported thereon. The seat also comprises a seat base supporting the moveable seat carriage thereupon and a support member moveable between a retracted configuration and an extended configuration, wherein a first end of the support member is coupled to the moveable seat carriage and a second end of the support member is coupled to the seat base. The seat also comprises an actuator to move the moveable seat carriage relative to the seat base to thereby transition the seat between an upright and a reclined position, with the movement of the seat carriage driving the support member between the retracted configuration and the extended configuration, wherein the support member stiffens the seat as the seat transitions away from the upright to the reclined position and while in the reclined position.
ADJUSTABLE BED FOR A VEHICLE
An adjustable bed assembly for a vehicle includes a contoured bed frame, a foundation disposed in the bed frame and coupled to an articulated frame having a support platform with a plurality of sectional support members. A linkage mechanism couples the support platform to the foundation and a drive mechanism operably coupled to the linkage assembly adjusts the position of at least one sectional support member. A mattress is disposed on the support platform and configured to conform with the plurality of sectional support members. A monitor mounted on the bed frame is movable between a retracted position and an extended position. A control device has a first preset for concurrently adjusting the articulated frame and moving the monitor.
A DRIVE UNIT FOR A VEHICLE SEAT
The present invention refers to a drive unit (D to D8) comprising a protection housing (20). Further, the present invention refers to a seat (1) for a vehicle, in particular to an aircraft passenger seat or to any other of a passenger and automotive seat.
Methods of assigning seats to utilize transformable seat assemblies
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media storing instructions for utilizing space associated with unoccupied seats in organized seating arrangements are disclosed herein. The disclosed techniques identify unoccupied seats within an organized seating arrangement, such as seats on an aircraft. Upgradable seats within the organized seating arrangement are determined based upon the unoccupied seats and the transformation capabilities of the seats. Upgradable seats are directly in front of or behind unoccupied seats, such that either the upgradable seat or the associated unoccupied seat is transformable to enable an upgrade. An occupant of a seat is selected for an upgrade associated with an upgradable seat and assigned the upgrade to enable the occupant to utilize a portion of the space associated with the unoccupied seat while sitting in the upgradable seat.
Transformable seat assembly
A transformable seat assembly which includes a seat support structure and a seat connected to the seat support structure with a hinge. The hinge defines an axis of rotation. A back support structure connected to the seat support structure, which extends in an upward direction relative to the seat support structure. A back cushion is secured to the back support structure and a lumbar cushion extends along the back support structure positioned between the back cushion and the seat, wherein the lumbar cushion is releasably secured to one of the back cushion or the back support structure and an end portion of the seat positioned closer to the back support structure with the seat positioned in an occupant support position than the hinge, can rotate in a direction of rotation about the axis of rotation, which includes the upward direction and a direction away from the back support structure.
Position adjustable armrest assemblies for passenger seats
An armrest assembly for an aircraft passenger seat including a base, a first arm having a first end pivotally attached to the base, a second arm having a first end pivotally attached to the base, and an arm support element pivotally connected to a second end of the first arm and pivotally connected to a second end of the second arm. An assist device applies force to bias the arm support element from a first position toward a second position higher than the first position. The base, the arm support element, the first arm, and the second arm operate together as a four-bar linkage system. Upon actuation of a user-actuatable release device, the arm support element can be moved from the first position to the second position with force assistance from the assist device.
Transformable seat assembly
A transformable seat assembly includes a seat support structure and a back support structure connected to the seat support structure with a hinge defining an axis of rotation. An actuator assembly includes a cylinder and a piston positioned within the cylinder, wherein the cylinder is secured to one of the back support structure or the seat support structure and the piston is secured to other of the one of the back support structure or the seat support structure. Additionally a blocking member is positioned within and adjustable along the cylinder. With blocking member in a first position, piston is limited to travel to a first limit position and the back support structure to a first reclined position. With the blocking member in a second position, piston is limited to travel to a second limit position and back support structure is permitted to rotate to second reclined position.
Aircraft passenger seat with zero-g taxi, take-off and landing recline position
An aircraft seat assembly for achieving a reclined sitting position suitable for taxi-take-off and landing (TTOL). The assembly includes an independently adjustable seat back and seat bottom coupled to a frame member configured to translate relative to a base and actuators dedicated for driving independent articulation of each of the seat back, seat pan and optional legrest to achieve sitting positions including upright, lie-flat and positions therebetween.
