Translating, locking, and rotating leg rest mechanism
A foot and leg rest deployment mechanism prevents the leg rest from rotating into an upright, deployed orientation until fully translated. Likewise, the deployment mechanism prevents the leg rest from translating while in an upright orientation. A rotation arm with a rotation locking channel prevents rotation until a locking arm is disengaged from the rotation locking channel via the locking arm engaging a translation locking portion of a translation channel. A single, linear actuator applies a force to cause both translation and rotation where the leg rest deployment mechanism controls the order of steps of deployment.
SEAT ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS FOR CHANGING SEATING ANGLE ACCORDING TO AIRCRAFT FLIGHT MODE
The present disclosure provides a method for changing passenger seating angle according to an aircraft flight mode utilizing a racked passenger seat configuration in which the seat angle relative to an aircraft longitudinal axis increases as the passenger seat transitions from an upright condition to a reclined condition. Such a passenger seat may be utilized in an aircraft passenger seating arrangement to maximize seating density while complying with defined taxi, takeoff and landing (TTOL) certification criteria for oblique seats, among other applications and benefits.
SEAT SYSTEM WITH ADAPTIVELY ADJUSTABLE SEATING SURFACES
A seat system includes a base support structure having at least one flat seat support surface, a seat pan support structure movably coupled to the base support structure and having at least one contoured seat support surface, and a back rest support structure movably coupled to the base support structure. The back rest support structure includes a primary frame having at least one flat back support surface, and an articulating frame movably coupled to the primary frame and having at least one contoured back support surface. The seat system also includes a back rest cushion having an occupant-facing back rest surface, and an articulating arrangement of back rest cushion support members movably coupled together to define a bottom surface of the back rest cushion opposing the occupant-facing back rest surface.
Aircraft seat
An aircraft seat includes an actuator and a movement transmission device. The transmission device includes a frame provided with an immobilizing portion and a drive shaft. The transmission device further includes a gear wheel provided with coupling teeth having inclined side walls and a sleeve with an immobilizing portion complementary to the immobilizing portion of the frame, and coupling teeth having inclined side walls. The transmission device also has an elastic member configured to push the sleeve. The stiffness of the elastic member and the inclination of the side walls of the coupling teeth of the gear wheel and sleeve are chosen such that, when a torque greater than a threshold torque is applied to the gear wheel, the sleeve slides on the drive shaft from a position of coupling the sleeve to the gear wheel to a position of immobilizing the sleeve relative to the frame.
Legrest for an aircraft passenger seat, comprising a device
A legrest for an aircraft passenger seat, comprising a device, wherein: the device has a housing; the housing has a first and a second housing half; the two housing halves are pivotally connected to one another; the housing is designed such that a life jacket for an aircraft passenger can be stowed therein; the device is provided on a main structure of the legrest; the first housing half is spring-loaded with respect to the second housing half by the spring force of a spring device of the device, such that the first housing half can be moved from an open position relative to the second housing half towards a closed position relative to the second housing half.
Device to resolve angled ottoman configuration
A deployable ottoman extension fills the gap between the ottoman and fully reclined oblique aircraft seat. The deployable ottoman extension can pivot out from the ottoman about a pivot point and/or slide out along a rail. Alternatively, the ottoman extension may be hinged to the ottoman to deploy by flipping down. The deployable ottoman extension may include deployable support features that extend to the aircraft floor when deployed.
Aircraft seat and cabin arrangement
An aircraft passenger seat comprising a seat pan, a back rest, and a leg rest is provided. The back rest is moveable between an upright position and a reclined position in which the back rest is substantially parallel with a deployed position of the seat pan. The back rest can also be fixed in at least one intermediate position between the upright position and the reclined position. The leg rest is moveable between a retracted position in which the leg rest is substantially perpendicular to the deployed position of the seat pan and an extended position in which it is positioned to support the legs of a passenger. The seat pan is moveable between a deployed position in which the seat pan occupies a first space and wherein a passenger can sit on the seat pan, and a stowed position in which the seat pan is moved out of the first space such that a passenger can stand in the first space.
Seat assembly and system
A system may include a seat assembly. The seat assembly may include a seat base, a seat portion mounted to the seat base, and an armrest assembly configured to be in an up position or a down position. The armrest assembly may include a handle operable by a user to lock or unlock at least one functionality of at least one adjustable seat assembly feature. Operation of the handle may be configured at least to: unlock the at least one functionality of at least one adjustable seat assembly feature while locking the armrest assembly from moving between the up position and the down position.
AIRCRAFT PASSENGER ACCOMMODATION UNIT WITH MOVEABLE OTTOMAN
An aircraft passenger accommodation unit is disclosed. The aircraft passenger accommodation unit comprises a seat, a wall, an ottoman, and a console. An access path comprising a width is defined between the wall and the ottoman, the access path providing passenger access to the seat. The ottoman is moveably mounted with respect to the console and moveable between an extended position and a retracted position to change the width of the access path, and the ottoman is at least partially received within the console when the ottoman is in the retracted position.
Passenger seat with support structure including offset struts
A passenger seat for an aircraft, including a bottom support configured to be connected to a floor of the aircraft, a seat pan frame, and a support structure interconnecting the seat pan frame to the bottom support, the support structure including a front support member pivotally connected to a front end of the seat pan frame, the front support member including a respective strut on each side of the seat pan frame, each respective strut having a bottom end rigidly connected to the bottom support and an opposed top end located under the seat pan frame, the bottom end being inwardly, downwardly and rearwardly offset with respect to the top end.
