Arrangement of individual seats for passengers of an aeroplane

An arrangement of individual seats intended to be installed in a cabin of an aeroplane includes at least one assembly of two seats turned towards the interior in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the arrangement. An end assembly includes a first seat and a second seat, each seat being convertible between a sitting position and a recumbent position in which the seat defines a bed surface. An intermediate element includes a surface, referred to as the intermediate surface, located in the same plane as the bed surfaces of the first seat and of the second seat, such that the bed surfaces of the first seat and of the second seat as well as the intermediate surface form a common bed surface.

In an illustrative embodiment, a seating apparatus for positioning at an aisle of an aircraft cabin includes a passenger seat and an armrest assembly mounted adjacent to the passenger seat. The armrest assembly includes a fixed panel adjacent to a seat back that extends along a portion of a seat bottom and a sliding portion that extends from a retracted position where a majority of the sliding panel is parallel to the fixed plane to an extended position where a rear end of the sliding panel is adjacent to a forward end of the fixed panel. A translation assembly slidably connects the sliding panel to the fixed panel to enable the sliding panel to move between the retracted and extended positions. In the extended position, an armrest portion of the fixed panel is flush with an armrest portion of the sliding portion to create an extended panel unit.

A conventional passenger vehicle has a lower deck and an upper deck on both sides of its aisle to double its seating areas. Each deck has ceiling and seat heights about the same as that in sedans, and hence without substantially increasing the vehicle height. Both decks are divided into seating sections with partition walls, and in a seating section each deck contains only a row of power reclining seats. Each seat has a power footrest mounted separately on the partition wall in front of the seat for sitting comfort and forming a bed with the seat. The footrest can also be placed to higher elevations to use as a table for eating or working. The footrest is stored vertically to allow more leg room for the seat. In some section of the vehicle each seating section may mount two rows of sitting-only seats to increase the vehicle capacity.

VEHICLE SEAT ARMREST ASSEMBLY WITH REPOSITIONABLE ARM PAD
20220204166 · 2022-06-30 ·

Disclosed is an armrest assembly for a vehicle seat such as a pilot seat positioned in an aircraft cockpit. The armrest assembly generally includes a pivoting armrest and an arm pad repositionable relative to the armrest to change the arm pad width. The arm pad includes two functional sides each having a different width dimension. The arm pad is coupled to the armrest such that sequential translational and rotational motion of the arm pad moves one of the first and second sides into a use position atop the armrest and the other of the first and second sides into an out of use position alongside the armrest. The armrest assembly according to the present disclosure is ideal for use in tight quarters within the flight deck, among other installation environments requiring a functional armrest.

RETRACTABLE DIVIDER FOR PASSENGER SEAT

Abstract: A passenger seat assembly includes a passenger seat and a retractable divider assembly. The passenger seat includes a first side, a second side opposite from the first side, and a forward-facing surface extending between the first side and the second side. The retractable divider assembly is attached to the passenger seat proximate to the first side of the passenger seat and includes a divider. The divider is movable between a stowed position and a deployed position. In the deployed position, the divider extends in a forward direction relative to the forward-facing surface of the passenger seat.

The present disclosure provides an armrest assembly easily installed and removed while in service, and while also maintaining a discreet connection. The armrest assembly includes a pivot block holding an armrest and rotatably coupled to a frame member, for instance a fixed seat spreader. The pivot block and frame member have mating stop block features that allow the armrest to rotate while being restrained from motion in upper and lower positions. A central shaft common to the pivot block allows for rotation. A retention pin is installed perpendicular to the axis of rotation through the spreader and is received in an annular groove formed in the shaft to retain the pivot block while allowing its rotation.
