Vehicle seat armrest assembly with repositionable arm pad
11465751 · 2022-10-11 · ·

Disclosed is an armrest assembly for a vehicle seat such as a pilot seat positioned in an aircraft cockpit. The armrest assembly generally includes a pivoting armrest and an arm pad repositionable relative to the armrest to change the arm pad width. The arm pad includes two functional sides each having a different width dimension. The arm pad is coupled to the armrest such that sequential translational and rotational motion of the arm pad moves one of the first and second sides into a use position atop the armrest and the other of the first and second sides into an out of use position alongside the armrest. The armrest assembly according to the present disclosure is ideal for use in tight quarters within the flight deck, among other installation environments requiring a functional armrest.

AN AIRCRAFT CABIN

The present invention provides an aircraft cabin comprising an aisle defining an aisle axis, a plurality of aircraft passenger seats arranged in a seat column adjacent the aisle, and accessible from the aisle, each aircraft passenger seat comprising a seat pan and a backrest with a front face defining a seat facing direction and a rear face, and each aircraft passenger seat being convertible between a seat configuration and a bed configuration, wherein each aircraft passenger seat in the seat column is able to be angled away from the aisle such that the seat facing direction is at an angle of at least degrees from the aisle axis and wherein each aircraft passenger seat can be in the bed configuration when at that angle. The invention also provides an aircraft passenger accommodation unit, an aircraft, a kit of parts and a method of providing enhanced passenger access to an aircraft passenger accommodation unit.

AIRCRAFT SEAT WITH MOVEABLE ARMREST
20220250752 · 2022-08-11 ·

An aircraft seat (1) is disclosed. The aircraft seat (1) comprises a seating surface (51), an armrest (7), and a gas strut (9) configured such that the armrest (7) can be moved between a raised position a lowered position in which an armrest surface (71) is substantially level with the seating surface (51). The gas strut (9) comprises a switch (92) with an unlocked configuration in which the stroke of the gas strut (9) can be adjusted and a locked configuration for locking the stroke of the gas strut (9) so that the armrest (7) can be held at any position between the raised position and the lowered position. A trigger (117) is configured to move the switch (92) between the locked and unlocked configurations upon actuation of an actuatable member (111) that is located upon a surface of the aircraft seat (1).

End bay assembly with deployable step and deployable step constructions

A step assembly installable in a structure such as a housing of an armrest assembly, the step assembly including a base attachable to the structure including a mounting plate having a low profile and a fixed receptacle to be received in the structure, a step plate pivotally attached along a first end to the base along a lower end of the receptacle, the step plate pivotable between a stowed position in which the step plate is housed within the fixed receptacle and a deployed position in which the step plate is outside of the fixed receptacle, the step plate having a first side for supporting a foot, and a release mechanism for releasing the step plate from the stowed position to the deployed position. The step plate deployed for use and concealed from view between uses.

ADJUSTABLE ARMREST ASSEMBLY

An adjustable armrest assembly provides for quick and easy height and tilt adjustments to the armrest. Generally, the armrest assembly disclosed herein includes a base, an armrest, and one or more shafts extending from the base and being pivotably coupled to the armrest. By moving the one or more shafts relative to the base, the height and/or tilt of the armrest relative to the base can be adjusted.

LOW-PROFILE ARMREST ARTICULATION MECHANISM FOR AIRCRAFT PASSENGER SEAT
20220242574 · 2022-08-04 ·

A low profile armrest articulation mechanism for a passenger seat is disclosed. The passenger seat has a seatback reclinable from an upright configuration to a berthed or horizontal configuration (e.g., parallel to the seatpan). The mechanism includes moving stops connecting the armrests on either side to the seatback and linkages connecting the moving stops to the seat frame. As the seatback reclines, the moving stops maintain the armrests at an optimally ergonomic angle (e.g., substantially parallel to the seatpan) for as long as possible. When the seatback reaches the fully reclined or berthed configuration, the armrests may be pivoted upward into a berthed orientation flush with the seatback, adding bed space to the berthed configuration.
