Environmental control system for use in an aircraft

An environmental control system for use in an aircraft includes at least one component positioned along a length of the aircraft and a decompression panel assembly comprising an array of apertures. The array of apertures is based on a location of the decompression panel assembly along the length of the aircraft relative to the at least one component.

PASSIVE PARTICLE SEPARATION SYSTEM

One embodiment is a passive particle separation system including a plenum; an inlet for feeding outside air into the plenum, wherein the outside air has particles entrained therewith; a housing for enclosing the plenum; and a standpipe installed on the housing. The outside air enters the plenum via the inlet and plenum, housing, and standpipe interact to impact the outside air entering the plenum to cause the particles to be released from the outside air.

A compact lightweight air filtration system is disclosed. The air filtration system includes a hydrophobic particulate/coalescing filter and a cleanable ozone converter housed in a housing with an inlet and an outlet. Air flowing from the inlet to the outlet passes through the particulate/coalescing filter element and then the cleanable ozone converter to remove particulates, aerosols, liquids, and ozone.

Particle separation system

A particle separation device to remove particulate matter from an exterior air flow for use with an environmental control system includes a curved airflow path with an inner radius and an outer radius, the curved air flow path to receive the exterior air flow, a particle passage disposed along at least one of the inner radius and the outer radius to receive the particulate matter from the exterior air flow, a circumferential volute to receive the particulate matter from the particle passage, and a duct to transport the particulate matter from the circumferential volute to a downstream region.

A vehicle includes a passenger cabin, a monument, a pet travel system, and a ventilation system. The pet travel system includes at least a portion of the monument and at least one pet storage module configured to be received in the portion of the monument. The ventilation system includes an inlet port defined in the at least one pet storage module, an exhaust port defined in the at least one pet storage module, and an exhaust duct. The inlet port is in flow communication with an air source outside of the pet travel system. The exhaust duct is in flow communication with the exhaust port. The pressure within the exhaust duct is lower than the pressure of the air source to cause air to flow from the air source through the at least one pet storage module from the inlet port to the exhaust port.

An inertial particle separator includes a body with an outer wall, an inlet, an outlet, an inner nozzle, a settling chamber, a serpentine channel, and a filter element. The inlet is disposed on an upstream end of the body. The outlet is disposed on a downstream end of the body. The inner nozzle is disposed radially inward from the outer wall and forms a primary flow passage. The settling chamber is disposed in the body and extends between the outer wall and the inner nozzle. The settling chamber forms a secondary flow passage and is fluidly connected to the inlet and the outlet. The serpentine channel fluidly connects fluidly connects the inlet and the settling chamber and is disposed radially between the outer wall of the body and the inner nozzle. The filter element is disposed in the settling chamber.

AIRCRAFT CABIN AIR MONITOR

An environmental control system that includes a first environmental control system pack, a first recirculation fan assembly, and a cabin air sensor unit. The first environmental control system pack is arranged to provide conditioned air to an aircraft cabin. The first recirculation fan assembly is arranged to recirculate a first cabin air fluid flow back to the aircraft cabin. The cabin air sensor unit is arranged to provide a first air quality signal indicative of an air quality of the first cabin air fluid flow to a controller.
