Systems and methods provide airflow to a flight deck from a passenger entry area. The system includes a fan mounted within a door separating a flight deck from a passenger entry area. The fan is configured to direct airflow from the passenger entry area into the flight deck. The fan having a shield positioned adjacent to the passenger entry area that is configured to conceal the fan.

AEROSPACE VEHICLE ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL SYSTEM

An Environmental Control Systems (ECS) for an aerospace vehicle comprises an air supply airflow path inputting, monitoring, and conditioning air from external to the vehicle, and a recirculation airflow path inputting, monitoring, filtering, and moving air from one portion of the interior of the vehicle to another portion. The air supply airflow can include a dynamically controlled VOC/ozone converter, which can be operated when the aerospace vehicle is on the ground. The recirculation airflow path can include a dynamically controlled regenerative gas contaminant filter and/or VOC/CO2 removal device. The filter/adsorption media of the controlled regenerative gas contaminant filter and/or VOC/CO2 removal device can be regenerated by suppling hot air or a vacuum, and gaseous contaminants can be broken down for removal from the regenerative gas contaminant filter by controlling UV irradiation. The controller can alert a flight crew if air quality falls outside predetermined or programmable parameters.

Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufactures for aircraft cabin temperature control using temperature data from mobile electronic devices are described herein. An example mobile electronic device described herein includes a transceiver to receive a climate characteristic value measured by a personal mobile electronic device in a cabin of an aircraft and a cabin air manager to calculate an updated climate characteristic setting for an environmental control system (ECS) of the aircraft based on a current climate characteristic setting of the ECS and the climate characteristic value.

METHOD FOR AIR CONDITIONING OF AIRCRAFT, AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM THEREFOR
20190009912 · 2019-01-10 · ·

A method for air conditioning of an aircraft includes the steps of: (A) obtaining a fresh air for ventilation; (B) exhausting an air from a cabin; (C) obtaining a purified air for recirculation, from a part of the air exhausted in the step (B); (D) obtaining an air for ventilation; (E) supplying the air for ventilation to the cabin; and (F) irradiating an ultraviolet ray emitted from a UV-LED to the fresh air for ventilation, an air for recirculation, the purified air for recirculation, and/or the air for ventilation.

Recirculation ground maintenance mode

An aircraft air conditioning system includes a lower cooling zone and an upper cooling zone. The lower cooling zone includes a lower recirculation heat exchanger configured to receive cabin air from a cabin and convert the cabin air into lower cooled recirculated cabin air. The upper cooling zone includes an upper recirculation heat exchange configured to receive the cabin air from the cabin and convert the cabin air into upper cooled recirculated cabin air. A power system selectively delivers power to the lower cooling zone and the upper cooling zone. A controller is in signal communication with the power system. The controller determines a target temperature of the cabin and invokes a recirculation ground maintenance mode that commands the power system to deliver power to one or both of the lower cooling zone and the upper cooling zone so that a temperature of the cabin reaches the target temperature.

EXECUTIVE AND VIP SEATING INTEGRATED AIR IONIZER

An air ionizer is integrated into aircraft executive and VIP suites. The integrated air ionizers provide personalized fresh air and ionization to the passenger's comfort. Air ionizers integrated in aircraft suites is effective, provides increased ion concentration, and reduces malodor, improve cabin air quality, and increase confidence to fly. The air ionizer provides IFE controlled ionization level.
