A heat exchanger assembly includes a main heat exchanger that receives a main hot air; a secondary heat exchanger operatively adjacent to the main heat exchanger; wherein the secondary heat exchanger receives a secondary hot air; wherein the main hot air and the secondary hot air are from two different, direct air sources; wherein a hot air channel of only one of the main and the secondary heat exchangers includes a catalytic coating; and a temperature control that controls the temperature of only one of the main hot air and the secondary hot air into the hot air channel.

Enhanced motor cooling system and method
An Environmental Control System (ECS) for an aircraft includes a ram air system having a ram inlet and a ram outlet. The ECS includes a cabin air compressor motor, a diverter valve, and a dedicated outlet. The cabin air compressor motor has a motor inlet passage and a motor outlet passage with the motor inlet passage being coupled to the ram inlet. The diverter valve includes a first diverter inlet, a first diverter outlet, and a second diverter outlet. The first diverter inlet is coupled to the motor outlet passage. The dedicated outlet is connected to the first diverter outlet in a flight mode of operation of the aircraft and the ram outlet is connected to the second diverter outlet in a ground mode of operation of the aircraft.
Flow sensing ozone converter
A flow sensing ozone converter includes an inlet housing, an outlet housing, and a central housing. The inlet housing defines a first pressure port. The outlet housing defines a second pressure port. The central housing extends between a second end of the inlet housing and a first end of the outlet housing.
Air filter assembly
A compact lightweight air filtration system is disclosed. The air filtration system includes a hydrophobic particulate/coalescing filter and a cleanable ozone converter housed in a housing with an inlet and an outlet. Air flowing from the inlet to the outlet passes through the particulate/coalescing filter element and then the cleanable ozone converter to remove particulates, aerosols, liquids, and ozone.
On-board inert gas generating air separation module recovery apparatus and method
A method of recovering performance of an air separation module (ASM) is described. A recovery system includes an air source providing inlet air, a filter to output clean air and a heater heating the air. The ASM is coupled to the system and comprises a hollow fiber membrane to output nitrogen enriched air (NEA) exhaust. The method comprises operating the system with the air source and heater in a default condition; measuring an initial purity of NEA exhaust; adjusting the air source and/or heater based on the initial purity; operating the system after adjusting the air source and/or heater; returning the air source and heater to the default condition; measuring a recovered purity of NEA exhaust; and determining whether the recovered purity is within tolerance. If the recovered purity is within tolerance, system operation is terminated. If the recovered purity is not within tolerance, the steps are repeated.
CATALYTIC OZONE REMOVAL
A method is disclosed for removing ozone from a gas. According to this method, the gas is contacted with an adsorbent that includes a transition metal oxide or metal organic framework to form a treated gas. The treated gas is contacted with a noble metal catalyst to catalytically decompose ozone in the treated gas, thereby forming an ozone-depleted treated gas.
AIRCRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL SYSTEM
An environmental control system of an aircraft includes a ram air circuit including a ram air shell having at least one heat exchanger positioned therein, a dehumidification system arranged in fluid communication with the ram air circuit, and a compressing device arranged in fluid communication with the ram air circuit and the dehumidification system. The compression device includes a compressor and a first turbine coupled to one another via a shaft. During operation of the first turbine, work is extracted from a first medium within the first turbine to power the compressor. At an outlet of the first turbine, a temperature of the first medium is above freezing and at least a portion of the moisture within the first medium is condensed.
Air purification system and method of assembling
A filter assembly including a plurality of filter modules, wherein each filter module in the plurality of filter modules includes a frame, a filtration element coupled within the frame, and at least one mating feature. The at least one mating feature of each filter module is configured for selective engagement with the at least one mating feature of another filter module such that the plurality of filter modules are coupled together in a serial arrangement.
Apparatuses and Methods for Reducing Ozone Creation from Ultraviolet (UV) Light
Apparatuses and methods are described for use of an ultraviolet (UV) light source, such as in a cleaning device, in which ozone creation due to reaction of the UV light with oxygen in the air is reduced. An example method includes dispersing, by a gas outlet, oxygen-depleted gas over a UV light source, and directing UV light from the UV light source to pass through the oxygen-depleted gas onto an area. An example apparatus includes a UV light source to direct UV light onto an area, and a gas outlet to disperse oxygen-depleted gas over the UV light source, such that the UV light passes through the oxygen-depleted gas onto the area.
