Fresh air and recirculation air mixing optimization
An aircraft is provided. The aircraft includes a pressurized volume and an air conditioning system. The air conditioning system operates in a first mode when the aircraft is performing high altitude operations and a second mode when the aircraft is performing low altitude operations. The first mode includes when a first medium, a second medium, and a third medium are mixed by the air conditioning system to produce a chamber ready medium. The second mode comprises when only the first medium and the second medium are mixed by the air conditioning system to produce the chamber ready medium. The air conditioning system provides the chamber ready medium to the pressurized volume.
Aircraft cabin air monitor
An environmental control system that includes a first environmental control system pack, a first recirculation fan assembly, and a cabin air sensor unit. The first environmental control system pack is arranged to provide conditioned air to an aircraft cabin. The first recirculation fan assembly is arranged to recirculate a first cabin air fluid flow back to the aircraft cabin. The cabin air sensor unit is arranged to provide a first air quality signal indicative of an air quality of the first cabin air fluid flow to a controller.
Flow straightener apparatus and systems for ducted air
A flow-straightener apparatus and associated systems for converting a rotating airflow into a substantially longitudinally directed airflow is presented. A first annular frame is provided and a second annular frame arranged concentrically within the first annular frame. A plurality of flow-straightener vanes are also provided, each having a first end coupled to an interior surface of the first annular frame and a second end coupled to an exterior surface of the second annular frame. The plurality of flow-straightener vanes each also have a leading edge and a trailing edge and each vane has a curved segment.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL COMPOSITE MICROWAVE AIR PURIFIER
An air purification device for use in an air management system includes a housing formed from a polymer matrix composite structure and a filter arranged within the housing. The filter is formed from a porous composite structure including a plurality of filter fibers such that air is configured to flow through the filter. Microbes within the air are configured to contact the plurality of filter fibers.
AIRCRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL SYSTEM
An environmental control system of an aircraft includes a plurality of inlets for receiving a plurality of mediums including a first medium and a second medium and an outlet for delivering a conditioned flow of the second medium to one or more loads of the aircraft. A ram air circuit includes a ram air shell having at least one heat exchanger positioned therein. A compressing device is arranged in fluid communication with the ram air circuit and the outlet. The compressing device including a first compressor, a second compressor, and at least one turbine operably coupled via a shaft. The first compressor and the second compressor are arranged in parallel with respect to a flow of the second medium and the first medium is used as a heat sink by another component within the environmental control system.
AIRCRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL SYSTEM
An air cycle machine for an environmental control system for an aircraft includes at least one turbine configured to receive and extract work from a first medium and a third medium. A compressor is configured to compress a second medium and a shaft mechanically couples the at least one turbine and the compressor. A mixing point is located downstream of at least one turbine. A mixture of the first medium and the third medium generated at the mixing point is provided to another component of the environmental control system.
VENTILATION APPARATUS FOR AIRCRAFT
There is provided an apparatus for preparing a ventilation gas mixture for pilots and crew of aircraft, the apparatus comprising a first gas mixer feed configured to receive exhaled air from a person, wherein the exhaled air comprises carbon dioxide, a second gas mixer feed configured to receive an air mixture comprising at least one gas, and a gas mixing device configured to receive the exhaled air and the air mixture from the first and second gas mixer feeds and combine the exhaled air with the air mixture in the gas mixing device to form a ventilation gas mixture. The apparatus further comprises a pressure adjuster configured to increase the pressure of the exhaled air in the first gas mixer feed so that it substantially matches the pressure of the air mixture in the second gas mixer feed.
Aircraft humidifier
An aircraft humidifier is engineered as a stand-alone, fully integrated aircraft humidifier that is suitable for providing uniform, non-wetting humidified air disbursed by the aircraft humidifier into ambient air to increase the relative humidity in low humidity environments such as aircraft interiors, including cockpits, cabins, crew rests, cargo holds, and lavatories as well as any other enclosed areas.
DEWATERING DEVICE FOR AN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM OF A PLANE
The present invention provides a dewatering device for an air-conditioning system of a plane, comprising: one or more filter plates disposed within a mixing cavity of an air-conditioning system of a plane, for filtering liquid-state water in mixed air in the mixing cavity, wherein the filter plates are configured to be inclinable relative to an axis of the mixing cavity, and an inclination angle thereof is adjustable so as to change a filtering amount of the mixed air.
AIR CYCLE MACHINE FAN AND COMPRESSOR HOUSING
A fan and compressor housing for an air cycle machine includes a fan inlet disposed around a center axis of the housing and having a fan inlet mounting flange, a compressor outlet having a compressor outlet mounting flange, and a compressor inlet having a compressor inlet mounting flange. The fan inlet mounting flange has a pinhole disposed thereon configured to receive a pin from a fan inlet diffuser housing and a fan inlet counterbore configured to receive a mating component from the fan inlet diffuser housing. The compressor outlet mounting flange has a compressor outlet counterbore configured to receive a first mating component from a condenser/reheater. The compressor inlet mounting flange has a compressor inlet counterbore configured to receive a second mating component from the condenser/reheater.
