Disclosed is a chain disk corner. In certain embodiments, the chain disk corner includes a bi-directional orientation independent chain disk corner wheel. In particular, the wheel is molded and devoid of moving parts. In certain embodiments, the chain disk corner includes a window portion. In particular, a bottom housing subassembly includes a bottom body of an opaque material and a hingedly attached window portion. In certain embodiments, the chain disk corner includes a reinforcing washer. In particular, a top washer is attached by injection molding to an interior of the top body, and/or a bottom washer is attached by injection molding to an interior of the bottom body. A feeder unit for pigs has an elongate trough with a hopper mounted over the trough for depositing feed downwardly and a feed dispensing control system at a bottom of the hopper so as to supply feed downwardly to make up feed taken by the pigs. The hopper includes four upstanding side walls forming an elongate rectangular open top edge with an open upper guide mouth located centrally above the top edge for locating a downspout of a feed supply system. A feeder and watering apparatus for pigs and a method for rehabilitating a fallback pig and preventing the fallback of a weaned pig is disclosed. A pair of semi-cylindrical troughs are mounted to either side of a fluid supply line. The troughs have a rooting protector mounted to the open portion of the trough, the rooting protector has a pair of longitudinally extending bars and multiple rung portions that are longitudinally spaced apart to provide a plurality of discrete eating areas. The troughs have a front wall portion that is lower than the rear wall portion to prevent feed from spilling over the rear wall. Multiple waterer nipples extend horizontally through holes in the rear wall. A quick-connect floor mount is rotatably mounted to the fluid supply line, with a handle that allows a retaining portion to lock the apparatus in cooperation with floor slats.

A hog or swine feeder includes one or more stations for serving a single hog at a time. Each station includes a bowl, with a feed dispenser above the bowl, and a water dispenser below the feed dispenser. The feed and the water dispensers are actuated by the hog on demand. A hopper in the feeder supplies dry feed to the feed dispenser. The hog can select dry feed, wet feed, or drinking water, as needed.

In an apparatus for feeding animals including one or more feed dispensing containers from which the animals can take feed which are fed by supply ducts from a supply a device is provided which includes a feed supply duct portion arranged such that the feed falls through the feed supply duct portion under gravity. A drive member is mounted at the duct and includes a plurality of paddle blades of a wheel mounted for rotation about an axis of the wheel such that falling feed in the duct acts to drive the blades to rotate the wheel about the axis and a driven component driven by the wheel. The driven component is in most cases a dispenser for feeding a liquid or particulate additive material from a supply cartridge, which is mounted on a common housing forming the duct and containing the wheel, to an injection opening on the bottom of the housing for addition to the feed passing through the duct portion.

An animal feeder has a hopper for receiving feed, the hopper having converging front panels with lower ends defining an elongate chute through which feed is directed. A shield is attached to each of the front panels and diverges from the front panel forming a cove that remains free of feed. A trough extends along the feeder and a water supply duct delivers water into the trough. An elongate shelf has a feed platform for receiving feed from the hopper. The shelf is positioned above the trough such that any feed falling, falls into the trough. The shelf has shelf retainers running longitudinally of the shelf above the feed platform, each shelf retainer directed between its respective shield and front panel. A height-adjusting mechanism adjusts the vertical position of the shelf relative the hopper and the trough. As the shelf moves upward, the shelf retainer moves into the cove.

A preparation apparatus for preparing feed for animals, includes a first storage container for storing a dehydrated feed, a second storage container for storing a liquid such as water, mixing chamber, a mixer for mixing the dehydrated feed and the liquid in order to form a feed ration in paste form, and a consumption container arranged to receive the feed ration, wherein the mixing chamber includes an opening, the mixing chamber is mounted movable relative to the preparation apparatus, so as to move from a first position to a second position.

This invention relates to a feed system for delivering liquid feed to animals. The system includes a feed apparatus having at least one liquid feed source, and at least one at least common supply line connected to the liquid feed source. A plurality of animal feeding stalls are connected to the at least one common supply line along its length.
