Methods of compensating for vacuum pressure changes within a plastic container
09802730 · 2017-10-31 · ·

A plastic container comprises an upper portion including a finish adapted to receive a closure, a lower portion including a base, and a sidewall extending between the upper portion and the lower portion. The upper portion, the lower portion, and the sidewall define an interior volume for storing liquid contents. The plastic container further comprises a pressure panel located on the container and moveable between an initial position and an activated position. The pressure panel is located in the initial position prior to filling the container, and is moved to the activated position after filling and sealing the container. Moving the pressure panel from the initial position to the activated position reduces the internal volume of the container and creates a positive pressure inside the container. The positive pressure reinforces the sidewall. A method of processing a container is also disclosed.

Non-removable tamper resistant lid
09790011 · 2017-10-17 · ·

The present invention relates to a tamper resistant lid for a container. The lid exhibits a center axis (X) and includes an outer and an inner member. The outer and inner members are further adapted to be substantially prevented from displacement along the center axis (X) with respect to each other. At least a part of the inner member includes threads enabling a threaded connection to the container by means of rotating the outer member in a first direction. The lid further includes at least one stop member preventing the inner member from rotation with respect to the outer member. The at least one stop member is adapted to be controllably disabled with a designated force after said inner member has been connected to the container, so that the outer member can be freely rotated with respect to the inner member to thereby prevent removal of the lid from the container. The present invention enables the sealing of a container, while substantially preventing the container from being reopened.

CONTAINER FOR VISCOUS LIQUID COMPRISING A CAP PROVIDED WITH A TAP

Disclosed is a container (1) including: an upper wall (2), a lower wall (4) and a side wall (6) defining an inner space (8), a single opening (12) extending along a main axis (A), a cap (18) including a flow duct (20) provided with an outlet (22) extending along an axis (S) substantially perpendicular to the main axis (A), and a pipe (44) including a first end (46) in fluid communication with the outlet (22) and a second end (48) intended for extending above the level of the liquid in the container, the pipe being rotatably secured with the cap and extending essentially along a tilted axis (T) forming an angle (α) of 25° to 75° with the main axis (A) and having a length no less than half the length of the container.

Welding head

A welding head comprises a welding element for welding a lid to an opening device of a container, a supporting body for supporting the welding element and a compensating device for compensating a possible mutual mispositioning of the welding element and the lid during welding of the lid to the opening device, the compensating device being interposed between the supporting body and the welding element, the compensating device comprising a planar spring arrangement provided with at least one planar spring element having a first member and a second member mutually connected by deformable elements.

Retort closure for a container

A closure includes a skirt defining an outer periphery of the closure and having an open bottom end configured to fit over the mouth of a receptacle, an end wall positioned atop the skirt to close a top end of the skirt and form a top face of the closure, one or more openings formed through the end wall, and a sealing rib formed on the top face and diametrically disposed outboard the one or more openings.

BOTTLE AND METHOD OF USING
20170225849 · 2017-08-10 · ·

A bottle having a reclosable and resealable lid is disclosed. The bottle can have a removable pedestal base. The base can elevate the remainder of the bottle off of the surface upon which the bottle is resting. The lid can have a seal for a drinking mouthpiece outlet and a pressure equalization port. The lid can have a concave indentation or seat aligned with a hinge connecting a top of the lid to a base or rim of the lid. When opened, the seat can rest against the lid rim, opening the lid to more than a 180° lid opening angle.

APPARATUS FOR OPENING AND CLOSING SAMPLE STORAGE CONTAINERS

Disclosed is an apparatus for opening and closing sample storage containers, including: a housing 110 having an external appearance provided such that a handle 130 held by a user is exposed; a driving device 180 for generating driving force to rotate a rotation shaft; a key 150 fitted and coupled to a lid 1 of at least one sample storage container and configured to be rotated by the driving force; and an ejector 160 for pressing the lid 1 when the handle 130 is pressed, so that the key 150 is disengaged from the lid 1.

METHOD OF STERILIZING PREFORM AND METHOD OF STERILIZING CONTAINER MADE OF RESIN

A sterilization process is performed on a preform or container made of resin after a corona discharge treatment is performed on an inner surface of the preform or container, the corona discharge treatment including applying a voltage produced in a corona discharge to an electrode that passes through an opening part of the preform or container, an insertion step of inserting the electrode to which the voltage is applied into the preform or container through the opening part, and a bottom part treatment step of treating an inner surface of a bottom part of the preform or container by bringing the electrode close to the bottom part until the corona discharge from the electrode changes discharge mode, and the sterilization process including a hydrogen peroxide supplying step of blasting a mist or gas of hydrogen peroxide solution or a mixture thereof to the preform or container.

Horizontal/vertical grip anti-rotation capping knife
20170217747 · 2017-08-03 ·

Disclosed is a unique knife plate structure for preventing rotation of a plastic container during the capping operation, wherein the container neck is provided with a finish ring or lip, wherein the knife plate is formed to provide laterally and vertically directed sharp edged or pointed container neck contact spikes each of which spikes penetrates (slightly) a portion of the plastic neck surface at the junction of the underside of the finish ring with the neck to hold the container in a fixed non-rotational position while the cap or lid is being rotationally applied.
